Last week, 15 of America's
best and brightest teachers came to Culver City to
compete for $100,000 and a guaranteed slot in the next
Tournament of Champions. Then, only nine remained - the
five winners of last week's games and the four
highest-scorers among non-winners. Now there are only
three - game winners Adam Elkana-Hale & Jennifer Giles
and wild card Cathy Farrell. In 24.5 hours, one of them
will be $100,000 richer with a shot at another $250,000
in the next Tournament of Champions later on down the
line.
The runner up gets
$50,000, while the second runner-up is guaranteed
$25,000.
Right now, Adam has a
ways to go to catch up to the two ladies? Can he do it?
Or will one of them lock it up?

Adam could
double to end up with $23,400. If Cathy bets nothing,
she'll end up with $28,200. If Jennifer bets nothing,
she'll have $36,800. She can bet less than $8600 and
still win in this case.
But if Cathy
goes for the double and nails it, she'll have $19,200, a
total of $37,800. So for Jennifer, the magic number is
$1001.
