The newest in Jeopardy!'s
line of grand challenges is coming around again, with
fifteen of America's greatest teachers being honored by
coming to play the great American quiz show of record.
At stake, $100,000 and a shot at $250,000 later on in
the next Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions. What challenges await these
educators? How will they rise to meet them? The answers
to these questions could be worth $100,000 for the winner, $50,000 for
the first runner-up, and $25,000 for the second runner-up. Semifinalists
are guaranteed $10,000, while everyone who competes gets $5000. Any and
all prizes depend on how far up a player moved in the standings.
So far, we have three.
But in 30 minutes, we'll have six.

Audio Daily Double: $1000 What Do I
Hear? Mary has $1400, exactly half of Jennifer's total. Chris is in the red by
$200. Mary IS GOING FOR IT! The clue: Vivaldi wrote for it, but it's also
popular in American bluegrass music. "What is a mandolin?" That is right, but
Mary said "autoharp", leaving her with nothing.

US Bodies of Water. Chris has $6800, well within

lake in the Cascade Mountains is nearly 2000 feet
deep. "What is Crater Lake?" RIGHT for $10,000!
Daily Double #2: $1600 Saints Go
Marching In. Jennifer has $14,400 and the lead. She bets $2000 on this: born at
Lourdes in 1844, she was canonized in 1933. "Who was Bernadette?" RIGHT for
$16,400!

Correct response: what is the list
of World Heritage Sites?
Chris' response: what is the Famous Landmarks? WRONG. Wager: $8400. Total: $0.
Mary's response: what are the Wonders of the World? WRONG. Wager: $0.
Total: $9000.
Jennifer's response: what is World Heritage Sites? CORRECT. Wager doesn't matter.
Semifinalist:
Jennifer Giles
A late round
surge gave Jennifer the game, although it could've gone
any which way before that. But a zero wager in the final
is good for Mary, as she is now in the semis by virtue
of the Wild Card. Joining her: Erin McLaughlin from
Monday's show.
Tomorrow
night, we will name your final nine.
