11 Chefs Compete
October 6
Last week in Hell's Kitchen, an
engagement was nearly aborted thanks to two dismal performances from
both teams in the Dinner Service. While the bride-to-be said yes,
the chef in charge said no... to Louis. Now 11 chefs remain. Will
anyone step up to the plate and finally hit a home run?
Ramsay can only shake his head in disbelief
as he sees two brigades in disarray. The Blues are willing to put their
trust in Boris, but if he disappoints, he's outta here. The Reds... are
pretty much writing off Sabrina. CHALLENGE #5:
Prom Dishes (planning)
Tomorrow night, Hell's Kitchen is hosting
a high school prom... But not just any high school, Beverly Hills High
School. The prom committee will talk about what dishes they are going to
serve. They're looking for "elegant, classy, and memorable". They're
going to go for Old Hollywood, but at the same time, they're looking for
fusion, seafood, steak, and chicken. It should be light, yet filling.
Now each team will prep a tasting menu.
The team with the best dishes will win. Time: 30 minutes.
Quick meeting for the guys, who let Boris
lead... but still suggest things anyway. The women are listening to each
other, on the other hand, and getting ideas out onto the plate.
APPETIZERS
Sabrina: Dungeness crab cake
Vinny: Sesame & spice crusted tuna
Winner: SABRINA (Reds lead, 1-0)
ENTREES
Nona: Pan-Seared Beef Ribeye
Rob: Pan-Seared Halibut with Broth
Winner: NONA (Reds win, 2-0)
It's academic from here on out.
ENTREES
Trev: Pan-Seared Ribeyes
Emily: Potstickers
Winner: EMILY (SWEEP! The first in HK history)
The ladies are headed to Knott's Berry
Farm. The men are going to stay behind and help decorate for the
proceedings. And the prom committee doesn't make it easy on them.
Russell is trying... and failing... to watch his tongue. Enter James,
who tells him not to be disrespectful to the clients. Trev decides...
he's going to be the adult.
Over at the park, the ladies are taking
old-time Old West pictures in bustiers out of the Lady Marmalade video,
and.... sorry, I got distracted by all off the popping bosoms...
The next day brings the prep for the
prom. Everyone's getting ready and putting their game faces on... except
for Sabrina who's getting... her slow and lazy on.
Hello, Mary Lou... Prom Night 2 is on at
Hell's Kitchen. Ramsay wants perfect coordination and phenomenal
teamwork. In short, he wants them to be MACHINES. OPEN HELL'S KITCHEN!
DINNER SERVICE #5 (PROM SERVICE)
Tonight's menu has the crab cake,
potstickers, and the blue team's halibut. Vinny and Nona will assist in
plating the food. The Reds have started with soggy crab cakes. Emily has
to redo those. Do over is... better. The Blues have the same dish,
and... Boris is getting ahead of himself. Back in the Reds, Melissa's
going to entrees, but her team is not even close to finishing
appetizers. That would be... 23 beefs. On board. And the apps aren't
done yet. They need a system and they need one NOW.
Boris is attempting to bounce back on
crab cakes... not working. They recover, and the apps are going out. The
Reds need to count on Sabrina to do the same. She... does. The last app
comes out on both sides, and they're ready to start entrees. Boris is
killing the team on the halibut. Boris gets his halibut to the pass...
and it's out with Russell's meat. Over on the Reds, the prom committee
is about to be served "purple snot". That was Gail. Meanwhile, Emily's
halibut is raw. She's sinking hard. Russell on the meats is determined
to keep the meat going. He's sick of losing, and his food is going to
the pass. Russell takes charge of his team and gets the job done. The
Reds are doing likewise, and Melissa is on a tear.. but the meat is too
mid-rare. Nona slices it too soon.... and Ramsay is about to give her
the mic on this one... NEVER MIND. Fight back... Sabrina and Jillian
rebound for the team and push the entrees out. Blue Team... also served.
And the Prom King & Queen, Cody &
Gabriella. Congrats. Let's clear down. The prom is a rousing success.
Ramsay still has to choose a winner.
Ladies had the edge on appetizers, but the men finish strong to take the
win tonight. Russell's best is the team's best. Sabrina is named best of
the worst and charged with picking two nominees for elimination... even
as Nona vocally disagrees.
Sabrina suggests that she's going to put
Emily (no confidence) and Melissa (not a good team player), though both
agree that it's on spite only.... BUT Sabrina talks to the guys about it
as well. Jillian wants her to put up Gail.
ELIMINATION #5:
Sabrina formally nominates Melissa (draws
negative attention) and Emily (in way over her head).
Melissa says that she's a fighter. Emily says
that she has the drive, and she's improved over the services... but she's given
only 60% effort.
Ramsay wants... NONA... to decide who should go
home. She picks... EMILY. Ramsay agrees, and Emily takes off her jacket.
"Like everyone in Hell's Kitchen, Emily started
at the bottom. Unfortunately, she stayed there."
Ramsay wants to see passion and commitment. He's
going to have to wait 10 seconds for station identification. This is "Hell's
Kitchen" on Fox. Stay tuned.
