10 Chefs Compete
October 6
Ramsay's last words to the Best of the Best...
"The only way is up." Only time will tell whether he, or any chef, will take
those words to heart. The ladies are crumbling, while the men are coming
together. It's about time someone did.
Before the next challenge... Melissa
is asked forward. Ramsay thinks that she's over her head... and she
sends her... to the BLUE Squad. In exchange, they get Trev.
CHALLENGE #6: Entree Salads (imagination)
Three of the most famous salads in the
world, Nicoise Salad, Cobb Salad, and Waldorf Salad, came from the
inspiration of the chefs who invented them. Now it's up to the 11
remaining chefs to create their own salad visions. Most points wins, and
best salad will be featured in Bon Appetit magazine.
You have 30 minutes... GO!
Melissa is determined to start on the
right foot, while Trev.. just wants to survive.
Helping judge from Bon Appetit is Sarah
Tenaglia.
ROUND 1
Boris: Grilled Fennel with Tomato & Avocado
Gail: Five-Spice Seared Scallop
Winner: GAIL (Reds lead, 1-0)
ROUND 2
Rob: Pan-Seared Scallop in Grapefruit Vinaigrette
Nona: "Roadkill"
Winner: ROB (Tied at 1)
ROUND 3
Vinny: Trilogy of meat
Jillian: Fruit & nut
Winner: ... NEITHER (Tied at 1)
ROUND 4
Russell: Proscuitto & Burrata Salad
Sabrina: Porkchops & Apple Sauce
Winner: RUSSELL (Blues lead, 2-1)
ROUND 5
Trev: Apples, Pears & Pork
Melissa: Seared Duck Cress Salad
Winner: ... TREV (Tied at 2)
The tiebreaker is going to be the best
salad of all teams. The featured salad will be... Gail or Rob... ROB!
BLUES WIN!
Rob's team is going to Malibu. Rob's
salad is going to Bon Appetit (and Ramsay and Sarah will be accompanying
him). They're also going to put the salad on the menu. The Reds
are prepping both kitchens for service tonight.
And Trev lays it into his team
immediately. Then he decides to lead by example... by riding into
Sabrina's behind. They also get flowers... and bug salad. Meanwhile, Rob
gets the star treatment as he's prepped for his shoot.
Okay, folks. Get back to work. Hell's
Kitchen opens in less than an hour.
Trev is hiding in the blue kitchen before
service, and it's unfortunate for him, but he's stuck with his team.
He's just going to have to deal. They need a voice. He wants to beat
into Rob after hearing how strong the team is without him.
Lines have been drawn. OPEN HELL'S KITCHEN!
DINNER SERVICE #6
Tonight will feature chef's tables, while
Rob's salad will be featured on the menu.
Your VIP guests will be ... arriving
shortly.
Russell's ready for his shrimp risotto.
He just needs shrimp to go with it. Boris needs to focus on said shrimp.
That he has to start over.
Rob will be serving Kelli Williams from
"Lie to Me", while Jillian will be serving Mo Gaffney, who hasn't had
steady work on the TV for a while.
Gail's spaghetti lobster scores out of
the gate, and all of her apps are out to the table. Red diners are
getting served at a fever pitch. Blue diners... same thing. Now Rob
needs to deliver Melissa's scallops on his salad. Scallops are RAW. Rob
is trying to get the fish station under control, while Jillian has
everything... except Nona's scallops for the salad. Her scallops are
RAW. Second batch... STILL raw.
Ninety minutes into service... and one
VIP has yet to be served. Ramsay wants a (BLEEPING) scallop from Trev.
On the blue side, Rob is waiting on scallops. And Melissa runs out of
scallops. Seven pounds of scallops, absolutely ruined. Exact same salad
with rock shrimp.
On the red side, Sabrina is screwing the
team on gnocchi. Two hours into service, and both kitchens are stalled.
Vinny is waiting on Boris' mash. The Wellingtons are perfect, but the
mash is gone to crap. Trev is amping up the Red Kitchen... His
patience is wearing thin. Despite some hurdles on both sides, both
kitchens are pushing entrees... and Ramsay is pushing Boris out of the
kitchen. Back in the kitchens, both teams finish service better than it
started...
Still. It's not good enough. NO WINNER
TONIGHT. Both teams will nominate one person.
The Blues believe that Boris has been
absolutely dreadful on every station he's been on. Melissa may not be
out of the woods yet either. Her scallops really did the team a number.
The Reds... call out Nona on scallops and Sabrina on her attitude.
ELIMINATION #6:
The nominations are... Sabrina (same
reasons... ) for the Red Team, and Boris (same reasons...) for the
Blues. Ramsay adds on Nona and Melissa. "Let's cut the crap, shall we?"
Boris has the passion and the drive,
wanting to step up his game. Nona says that she busts her ass in the
kitchen. Melissa says that being on the blues was a new life. Sabrina
hasn't learned respect, but she never gives up.
Leaving Hell's Kitchen tonight...
MELISSA.
"Melissa had a red jacket, she had a blue
jacket, and now she has no jacket at all."
Nine chefs remaining. Ramsay has not yet
given up on any one of them, and it's a good thing, because the greatest
challenge in Hell's Kitchen history... a challenge 100 episodes in the
making... is still to come.
