13 Chefs Compete
September 29
Last week, on the crux of the worst
opening service EVER at Hell's Kitchen, the chefs started the comeback
trail with sushi from Iron Chef Morimoto. The road would end in a
completed service for the Red Kitchen, sending Curtis back to the farm.
Now 13 chefs remain.
And Vinny and Raj are having it out on
the back his "suggestion" not to order sides because Raj's slow as all
get out.
Meanwhile, Raj is still keeping a sunny
disposition... whether the rest of the team like it or not.
Sleep arrives at 3 in the morning... but
that's about to change thanks to a few of LA's finest paramedics
checking them out. Why? To see if they are in any shape to cook.
CHALLENGE #3: Breakfast for Paramedics (Teamwork)
The teams must work together to serve 50
EMTs each, either an eggwhite omelette with wheat toast and turkey bacon
or scrambled eggs with French toast and sausages. First team to serve
their orders wins.
No one can be served unless they get the
fruit salad out first. That means ... working together to put together a
fruit salad. They have a bit of issue with that.
The women are hoping to build off of a
successful dinner last night. The men... just want to get an order
right. Thanks to Sabrina and Melissa, the red side has something to
cheer about. The blue side... completely different story. And Raj DARES
to talk to Ramsay about unseasoned eggs. Raj clears his head... in the
fridge.
Needless to say the blue team is in
complete freefall. The red team... is racing to the finish and an EASY
win. It's so bad that they have to help the Blues finish.
Women get a lunch at Santa Monica... and
a surprise. The men... are doomed to scrub.
The surprise.. the ladies are swinging on
Trapeze School. While the women are hanging around, Raj is just...
hanging. Much to the chagrin of his teammates. It comes to a head with
Raj and Trev in the middle of punishment, that Boris has to come cool
someone's jets.
The next day brings the next service.
Time to prep. The men are looking to turn things around, while the women
are looking for... Sabrina, who doesn't want to be a prep cook in HK,
Girl, everyone has to start somewhere.
Gentlemen are 0-for-2. It's comeback
night. Hopefully Raj can stay out of the fridge.
One person from each kitchen - Sabrina
and Trev - will be making a palate-cleansing cocktail to serve with all
dinners. James... OPEN HELL'S KITCHEN!
DINNER SERVICE #3
Raj is on fish. He says that he's an
excellent poissonier (fish cook). And yet he screws the first table.
Jillian and Emily work together on the Red Side to get the apps first
out... but they don't stay out in the dining room for long. Let this be
a lesson... TASTE.
Sabrina and Trev are working their tails
off getting cocktails out.
BOTH teams finally please Ramsay, and the
Blues are moving onto entrees. Raj wants to finish a grilled salmon with
sauce. a) The sauce sucks, and 2) grill means grilled.
Guests on both sides of the diner are
getting antsy. Raj's second attempt at salmon... is raw. Some poissonier.
Vinny is called in to sub out. One hour and 45 minutes into service, and
both teams are on track to finish.
Nona has to double time it on garnish
because of Emily. Boris is trying to save himself on Wellingtons... and
yet because of him, the kitchen's held back. But because of Raj, none of
it's going to waste.
Gail... is on fire. And asleep.
Two hours, and Gail's back in the game.
Raj, on the other hand, is a little too eager. And because of that, they
run out of Dover sole for the special. Raj.. begrudgingly goes into the
dining room and tells the customers that they run out of the special.
With him out of the way, the Blue Team picks it up.
Meanwhile, the Red Team finishes their
second straight service. The Blues as well, but damn was that a shock.
This is going to the customer cards.
And the Blues win it on that, 54% to 50%
above average.
The women want to put Emily and ...
Melissa? Afraid, but strong in prep. Sabrina? Weak in prep... and a bit
of a brat.
ELIMINATION #3
The ladies nominate Emily (weak) and Sabrina
(does jack during prep). Ramsay doesn't think Emily has the stamina, while
Sabrina... basically throws the REST of her team under the bus, saying that
she's here to learn and grow.
Leaving Hell's Kitchen tonight is.... RAJ!
"When the going gets tough in the kitchen, a chef
puts his head down and cooks. All Raj wanted to do was put his head in the
freezer, and that's why his stay in Hell's Kitchen was a short one."
The ladies get a gift, but all of the chefs
aren't anywhere NEAR ready for LA Market. Will that change tomorrow? Find out in
a moment, but first,
we
must pause 10 seconds for station identification... This is "Hell's Kitchen" on
Fox.
