Episode 2.19
January 22

My students are facing their midterm exams this week. Let's see who are families are this week that face the test of our favorite games.

Jacob's Family
JACOB (b'ballin' and move bustin')
Brother: T.J. (cup stacker)
Mother: LISA (no mom is ever just a housewife)
Father: TIM (not THE tool man, but he's good with them)
Reagan's Family
REAGAN (household royalty in every sense of the word)
Brother: CRAIG (karate kid in training)
Mother: BECKY (scrapbooking the whole house)
Father: MIKE (smooth tunes on the guitar)

Let's see what they're playing for: $8,000!
SONIC WHAMMY'S PREDICTION: DOG
And when it's all said and done, the big cash will send one family to the Dominican Republic

Cranium Brain Break: Assembly Required

Tonight's picture: It's Todd, of course, and he's deep in thought.

Well, it doesn't take Reagan's family all that long to think about this photo and get it put together. They win by 2 pieces.

REAGAN'S CARD: HAT
JACOB'S CARD: BOOT

OPERATION: SAM DUNK

Reagan chooses to go second. Todd forgoes the inspiration toss this time.

Reagan's first toss strikes out some Bad Plumbing. Lisa answers first for her family with Burp Bubbles. Becky, Tim AND Mike all keep flushing 350 points with more Bad Plumbing to complete the first cycle. Jacob then gets Toxic Gas while Reagan hits Burp Bubbles. Then it goes cold, until Tim hits Phone Finger, but it's not enough to catch up.

FINAL SCORE: 950-1200 Reagan

REAGAN'S FAMILY WINS: A Boomers gift card
REAGAN'S CARD: ROLLERBLADE

SIMON FLASH

Memory is key here, as we know. Dim the lights, please.

RGYB (Jacob), GBRY (Reagan), GYBR (Reagan), YRGB (Reagan), BGYR (Reagan), RBGY (Reagan)

Jacob's crew was really lost and going all over the place, even on the 5th point where everyone started already in sequence.

REAGAN'S FAMILY WINS: A deluxe foosball table from Hayneedle
REAGAN'S CARD: HAMBURGER

SPELLING BEE

Lisa & Becky are ready to write. And Reagan has declared that Lisa will write first.

LISA: PEAR, BERRY (PASS), (TIME UP!) EASEL
SCORE: 100

BECKY: KITE, SALSA
SCORE: 200 (TIME LEFT: 53 seconds)

REAGAN'S FAMILY WINS: A Vocopro Soundman karaoke system
REAGAN'S CARD: SOCCER BALL

GUESSTURES FREEFALL

Once again, Reagan likes being the anchor. She goes second, raising Jacob and company up to the rafters.

TIM: Pinch, Sour (PASS), Deal, Sink (PASS), Suitcase (PASS), Pig, Crossing Guard (PASS), Sleep, Roller Coaster (PASS), (TIME UP!) Cello
SCORE: 40

MIKE: Belt, Sunglasses, Pen, Sculpt (PASS), Push-Up (PASS), Calculator, Penguin (PASS), Sewing
SCORE: 50 (TIME LEFT: 35 seconds)

REAGAN'S FAMILY WINS: A pair of Street Surfing Whiplash scooters.
REAGAN'S CARD: IRON

TWISTER LIGHTS OUT

Put your best foot forward, Jacob. You need to win a card to avoid the shutout.

In the kids round, Reagan gets bumped right away for falling asleep on the first command. T.J. then moves the right foot on a left foot command, but that's because the right foot hasn't made it to the board yet. It goes up on the next move, though, and then after a long string of hits, Craig doubles up his feet on the same green dot. So Jacob wins it.

Parents are nervous, but ready. Tim takes a bit to go, but a dot vanishes on him. And then Lisa quickly follows.

A tie game sends the kids back on the smaller floor. T.J. is almost doing the splits, and both he and Reagan failed to find a red dot for their left hands. Only a couple more dots vanish before they take out Craig's hand. Jacob is the sole suurvivor again!

JACOB'S FAMILY WINS: A Photowow gift card
JACOB'S CARD: SKATEBOARD

MONOPOLY CRAZY CASH MACHINE

Jacob fights strong to avoid the shutout. But can his 2 cards be enough to overtake Reagan, her 5 cards and her FGN cheer? (Seriously)

First, let's see Reagan's cards:

HAT: $2,000
ROLLERBLADE: $685
HAMBURGER: $620
SOCCER BALL: $775
IRON: $515
TOTAL: $4,595

Wow, that is an insane total to beat. Let's just hope Jacob found a nice value, at least.

BOOT: $410
SKATEBOARD: $330
TOTAL: $740

WINNERS: REAGAN'S FAMILY

If you've studied this show, then you know that to have the big advantage, and a huge card like that right at the start, you know it's gonna take a big guy to win it. Jacob's family couldn't deliver, but here's what they would have done it for them:

BIG MONEY CARD: PRETZEL

Looks like I'm in the doghouse with no big money. So long for now.
