"Ballroom Bowl I" - July 6

This is it, people, the last episode of "Dancing With The Stars," and it's coming down to either Kelly Monaco or John O' Hurley for the title of the ultimate dancing champion. This week, the 2 will perform their best routine and after that, they follow it up with a little freestyle. Later on, our ousted 4 couples will dance for your viewing pleasure one last time. For the finals, each couple will perform a routine 2 times, and when that's over, our judges will rate them from 1 to 10, with 10 the highest for 1 judge and 30 being the maximum for all 3. Whoever has the highest public votes will be crowned ultimate dancing champion. Who will reign supreme tonight? Let's get it on!

BEST DANCE ROUTINE
John & Charlotte will kick it off with their best Quickstep to "Let's Face The Music & Dance." Charlotte did some turns to start off with but throughout the song they did some fine work around the dance floor. By the end, Charlotte did some back & forth turns ending with a dip. Now let's get our first glance at the judges: Len said it was a lovely technique and great footwork, Carrie Ann said it was a fantastic routine and Bruno said the eye contact was brilliant and dubbed them King & Queen of the ballroom. Will that title mean anything at the crowning ceremony? We get our first check of the scoreboard:

LEN: 9 CARRIE ANN: 9 BRUNO: 9 Total: 27
What a great start to the finals!

Kelly & Alec will round it out with Enrique Iglesias' "Bailamos." To begin, Kelly got her groove thing on alone, and when they teamed up, they did some great dancing. Getting to the chorus, Kelly did a split and some turns along the way, and by the bridge, she did an awesome squat spin. By the end, it went just as they planned. It was Alec doing a kick and ending with a squat while Kelly was below him. How did they do with the judges? Let's find out: Len said it was just like boxing, Carrie Ann said the samba was better than it did the last time and Bruno said it was done proud. But will her Cinderella dreams be crushed just like Illinois in the NCAA finals? Only the scores tell the tale:

LEN: 9 CARRIE ANN: 7 BRUNO: 9 Total: 25
Just 2 points shy of getting the lead from John & Charlotte

After 1 round, John & Charlotte take 1st with 27 while Kelly & Alec take runner-up honors with 25. For this next round, the rulebooks are thrown out, anything goes and just like ESPN's "Around The Horn," everything is out of bounds. It's time for the Freestyle round. Let's Party!

FREESTYLE
John & Charlotte are up first. During the last 5 weeks, Carrie Ann called John & Charlotte the couple to beat. Can they beat Kelly & Alec's competition. They'll bust out to The Pointer Sisters' "I'm So Excited." Charlotte started it off with some solo dancing and John did some novice work on his own. Seconds past, Charlotte got her swerve on behind John while he did a swerve on his own. Getting near the chorus, Charlotte took off her coat and revealed a white dress to the audience. Charlotte did her best leg hold & carry around John and did a little flip for the crowd. It ended, however, with a dip hanging upside down. Now let's hang around with the judges: Len & Carrie said it was fantastic while Bruno praised them with shouting. But will the public shout "You Rock!" when they find out that they won? To the scoreboard we go:

LEN: 9 CARRIE ANN: 9 BRUNO: 9 Total: 27
If you didn't notice, it's the same score 4 times for the 2nd show in a row for them. Good work!

Kelly & Alec is up ahead for their turn. They thought they were a joke the first 2 weeks, but when they improved the rest of the way, it was no laughing matter. Will they have the last laugh on them? It's time to get down to Jennifer Lopez's "Let's Get Loud." To start things off, Alec ripped off part of Kelly's dress, and then they went to the band area to do a dip followed by a flip up & down the stairs. When they got back to the floor, they did some fancy footwork. Getting close to the end, Kelly did some mid-air helicopter spins and did some flying spins over Alec's head ending with a falldown on both knees. Will there be joy in the DWTS faithful? We go to the judges one last time this season: Len said it was unbelievably great, Carrie Ann said it was amazing and Bruno said it was hot, hot, hot. Will they give John & Charlotte the cold shoulder? We go to the scores one last time this season:

LEN: 10 CARRIE ANN: 10 BRUNO: 10 Total: 30
A perfect score and they're now in the lead!

The finals are over, but the show is not. So far, Kelly & Alec are beating John & Charlotte by 1 point by the score of 55 (2 ranking points) to 54 (1 ranking point).

For this next segment, how did these 6 stars end up on DWTS? Well, it all began when a boxer, a singer, a actor, a soap star, a model and a reality star danced their way across America's homes. Week 2 came, and Trista & Louis were gone. By Week 3, Evander & Edyta were no more and by Week 4, a wardrobe malfunction and a group dance put Rachel & Johnathan on the elimination wish list. By week 5, Joey & Ashly's hopes of making it couldn't make room for both John & Kelly. and this week, all 4 ousted couples will reunite one more time. And away we go...

We start off with Trista & Louis doing a rumba to "Endless Love." Evander & Edyta are next up doing a Jive to "Reet Petite." 3rd, Rachel & Johnathan take a tango to "Toxic." And finally, Joey & Ashly do a cha-cha that started off the season to "Crazy In Love." When it was all said and done, all 4 were joined and took a bow. But by the public votes, who got a standing ovation tonight? LET'S CROWN THE WINNER!

And the winner...of Dancing With The Stars...is................KELLY & ALEC!

Kelly & Alec take the trophy with the mirrorball emblazoned by the show's logo. John & Charlotte should've been the couple to beat, but 2nd place is a good thing, even if the public would've gone with them instead. As the season fades out, we see Kelly & Alec do a victory dance to Tina Turner's "Simply The Best." They were simply "en fuego" the past 6 weeks they got here. So, there you have it. Whether you merengue with Morgan Webb, did a cha-cha with Carmelo Anthony or took a tango with Tony Hawk, it's got to be Dancing With The Stars. Until next season, I'm Pierre Kelly saying dots & power pellets, I'm out.
