Week 7: Insert Performance Title Here
November 2

A double ax proved 1 just isn't enough. This week, they get a round of routines, and it's followed by a team dance. And if that wasn't enough, a double elimination will commence tomorrow. But enough about this, let's dance in the last month of fall.

Kicking the half off is Michael & Anna doing a foxtrot to "Sunny Afternoon" by the Kinks. He seemed to have been wooden & stiff during his routine, but let's see what the judges have to say about that. Carrie Ann said it was fluid & dynamic and Bruno said it was an improvement. Our first scores go like this:

CARRIE: 8
LEN: 8
BRUNO: 7
Total Score: 23
And they start the show with a bang!

Next is Donny & Kym doing a quickstep to "Sing Sing Sing" by Louis Prima. They took quickness to the extreme with that routine. Now to the judges. Carrie Ann said he was light on his feet, Len said there were mistakes in a quickstep and Bruno said he is solid as a rock. Let's rock out with the leaderboard:

CARRIE: 8
LEN: 8
BRUNO: 8
Total Score: 24
And 1 point put them in 1st!

We have Mark on the floor, but Lacey gets called out due to a flu virus. So pinch hitting for her will be Anna Trebunskaya doing a samba to "Switch" by Will Smith. However, it didn't have chemistry. Maybe if Lacey didn't have the flu, a better score would've helped. Let's see what the judges said. Carrie Ann said it was a mess, Len said it wasn't his best dance and Bruno didn't like it. Maybe the scoreboard likes this:

CARRIE: 6
LEN: 7
BRUNO: 6
Total Score: 19
And they go out in last place.

Now we have Mya & Dmitry doing a foxtrot to "Is You Is or Is You Ain't my baby" by Diana Krall. It brought a whole new vibe to the ballroom. To the judges we go. Carrie Ann said the dance was dynamic, Len said there were way too many gimmicks and Bruno said she danced like an angel. Let's see if she's on fire like the devil.

CARRIE: 9
LEN: 7
BRUNO: 9
Total Score: 25
And they're now in the lead!

Aaron & Karina are up to jive to "We're Not Gonna Take It" by Twisted Sister. It took all the skills to bring enery in the ballroom. To the judges again. Carrie Ann said it was so good, Len said it had enough energy to light up Hollywood and Bruno said Aaron kicked butt. Let's kick the scoreboard into high gear:

CARRIE: 9
LEN: 10
BRUNO: 10
Total Score: 29
And they quietly take the lead!

Kelly & Louis are next doing a salsa to "good Lovin" by The Rascals. That took Kelly a good way to dance to it. Were the judges any good to her? Carrie Ann said it had a new elegance and Bruno danced in delight on the table. Does that help a 1st place score?

CARRIE: 8
LEN: 8
BRUNO: 8
Total Score: 24
And they tie for 3rd place.

Last to go in this round, Joanna & Derek doing a rumba to "The Look Of Love" by Dusty Springfield. In it, Derek fanatsizes about a day on the beach, but gets woken up by the sound of Joanna's voice and he looks in the mirror. Now we stop dreaming and get to the judges for real. Carrie Ann loved watching them, Len said it was well done and Bruno said she's a love goddess. Really. Now to the scoreboard.

CARRIE: 9
LEN: 9
BRUNO: 9
Total Score: 29
and they tie at the top!

So after a round of play, Joanna & Aaron have 29, Mya has 23 and 24s go to Kelly & Donny while Mark has 19. But things could change as we head into the team dances. Let's go.

TEAM DANCES

Up first is a paso doble team consisting of Aaron, Michael, Mya and Mark dancing to I've been waiting all, er sorry, "I Hate Myself for Loving You" by Joan Jett & The Blackhearts. Soon after a 24 was scored, meaning that Aaron has 53, Michael with 47, Mya with 49 and Mark with 43. The other team consisting of Joanna, Kelly & Donny is known as Team Tango. They danced to "You Give Love a Bad Name" by Bon Jovi, and when it was over, they drove away with a 28. So with that, Joanna gets 53, and 52s going to Donny & Kelly. So that's it. Like I wrote, tomorrow will be a double elimination, leaving only 5. That's right. Only 5. We'll see you tomorrow.
