Week 3: Stretching the Taco Bell Dollars Out to the Truth
October 5

It's time to take ballroom dancing a little seriously. Dancing With The Stars is about to have a samba/rumba night. With Len back on board, we could be finally having a show like none other. Let's begin.

Before we get to dancing, Tom Delay has a stress fracture in his foot. Will that help? More on that later, but first, we start off with Mark & Lacey doing a rumba to "Don't Lie" by the Black Eyed Peas. It wasn't a bit raunchy like past rumbas from the show, but it was okay. Did the judges did okay? Carrie Ann said it was lacking connection, Len said it was a bit hard and Bruno said it was anticlimactic. Here's something climatic, the scoreboard....

CARRIE: 6
LEN: 6
BRUNO: 6
Total Score: 18
An average start to the program.

Next is Joanna & Derek doing a samba to "la Bomba" by King Africa. It became hot & sexy for this routine. Now to the judges. Carrie Ann said it was a sexy dance, Len said it was good all around, and Bruno said the good times are back....but was it good enough for the lead?

CARRIE: 7
LEN: 8
BRUNO: 8
Total Score: 23
They take the lead!

Next up is Mya & Dmitry doing a rumba to "Underneath Your Clothes" by Shakira. This time, it was more romantic & slower than the first rumba couple. Let's see if that happens. Carrie Ann said she had chills the whole time, Len said there was too much going on and Bruno said they put America in the mood for love. It's Scoreboard time!

CARRIE: 10
LEN: 7
BRUNO: 10
Total Score: 27
They quickly take the lead!

Next up is Melissa & Mark doing a samba to "Turn Me On" by Kevin Lyttle. It had a party feel and Melissa was having fun with it. Let's see what the judges have to say. Carrie Ann said she is improving,, Len said she wants a bit more rhythm and Bruno said she could do it. Let's see if the scoreboard could do some justice.

CARRIE: 6
LEN: 6
BRUNO: 7
Total Score: 19
They take one point into 3rd place.

We have Louie & Chelsie doing a rumba to "Total Eclipse Of the heart" by Bonnie Tyler. It seems that they have much of the chemistry. On to the judges. Carrie Ann squealed over it, Len said it was disappointing and Bruno said they want to work on some technical bits. Let's bite into the scoreboard...

CARRIE: 8
LEN: 5
BRUNO: 7
Total Score: 20
They take away 3rd place!

Ready to dance is Debi & Maks doing a samba to "Love is in the air" by John Paul Young. It seemed to lacking the footwork, but let's see what the judges have to say about it. Carrie Ann said to was too safe, Len said it lacked flavor, and Bruno said it lacked connection. The scoreboard never lack these numbers.

CARRIE: 6
LEN: 5
BRUNO: 6
Total Score: 17
They fly into last place.

Here's Donny & Kym doing a rumba to "Endless Love" by Lionel Richie & Diana Ross. If you've noticed, this was the same song Trista & Louis used to dance to back then. Talk about trying to run out of songs. On to the judges. Carrie Ann said it was beautiful, Len said they did a great job and Bruno said it was a bit too much "Swan Lake." Let's dive into the scoreboard!

CARRIE: 7
LEN: 7
BRUNO: 7
Total Score: 21
They now take 3rd place.

Michael & Anna are up to do a samba to "Hard TO Handle" by the Black Crowes. It seems to have his beats off the wagon here. We go to the judges. Carrie Ann said he danced too small, Len said it was a disappointment and Bruno said he has no rhythm. We have the scoreboard:

CARRIE: 5
LEN: 4
BRUNO: 5
Total Score: 14
They get sent to last place!

Now we have Natalie & Alec doing a rumba to "In the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins. It was very beautiful from start to finish. To the judges again. Carrie Ann squealed again, Len said it was an excellent job and Bruno shouts on how well they enjoyed it. Let's get to the numbers:

CARRIE: 9
LEN: 8
BRUNO: 9
Total Score: 26
They get 2nd place.

Now we have Chuck & Anna doing a samba to "Mas Que Nada" by Sergio Mendes. They had pretty good footwork for good entertainment. Now to the judges. Carrie Ann said it was rough, Len said they did a good job entertaining themselves, and Bruno said it was a samba from "Zombietown." Let's chow the scoreboard down!

CARRIE: 6
LEN: 5
BRUNO: 5
Total Score: 16
They stay one spot out of last.

Aaron & Karina take their turn to do a rumba to "Spotlight" by Jennifer Hudson. However, he took too much time for a little light shining for a trip to the floor, but got back up where he got lost. Now to the judges. Carrie Ann said he wants to listen Carrie Ann more, Len said his arms were flinging out too much and Bruno said it lacked fluidity. We get the numbers:

CARRIE: 8
LEN: 6
BRUNO: 7
Total Score: 21
It's now a tie for 4th place.

It looks like Tom & Cheryl are ready to dance live and this time, it's a samba to "Why Can't we Be Friends?" by War. They got dressed up in Republican and Democrat outfits to fit the song. Ready to go to the judges? I am. Carrie Ann said it wasn't exciting as a samba, Len said it was a job well done and Bruno said he was a super trooper. Locking in the numbers....

CARRIE: 6
LEN: 4
BRUNO: 5
Total Score: 15
They stay out of last place.

And finally, Kelly & Tony doing a samba to "LoveGame" by Lady Gaga. It became more flamboyant and Kelly returned with a vengeance. The judges is what we get to. Carrie Ann said it's all there, Len said she wants to work on her confidence and Bruno's seeing a vast improvement. Let's get to the numbers.

CARRIE: 7
LEN: 6
BRUNO: 7
Total Score: 20

And our final check of the scoreboard goes like this: Mya & Dmitry lead with 27, Natalie & Alec have 26, 23 goes to Joanna & Derek, 21s are dealt out to Aaron & Donny, the 20s belong to Kelly & Louie. We have a 19 belonging to Melissa & Mark, 18 belongs to Mark & Lacey, Debi & Maks have 17, Chuck & Anna have 16, Tom & Cheryl have 15 and last goes to Michael & Anna have 14. So there you have it. It's all in the books and the fire is out, but it'll be still burning for the results show tomorrow. Hope to see you then.
