America's Most Smartest Finale... Part 2
December 16

Last time, it was down to the final three, Angela, Andre, and VJ. Angela was eliminated at the final Edge Challenge, which Andre won, and at a critical juncture during the final challenge to determine who is America's Most Smartest Model... Andre decided to use his ultimate edge... but what was it? And who will be crowned America's Most Smartest Model?

We begin where we left off last week, with VJ describing how he used strategy to get to the final two and with Andre using his edge to make a phone call... "Pickel. Yo, it's Andre." The ultimate edge becomes the ultimate leg up, as a competitor will present why Andre should be the winner. Pickel started wanting to kill the guy, but as the competition went on, he changed the most. Pickel isn't good at presenting (remember, he's ADHD clinically), but he will do the best that he can for his huckleberry friend.

Andre tells Cathy that he plans to beat VJ at his own game by having someone else make his presentation. Sally leaves VJ with the notes, and VJ is left with stylist Claudia Wells, who is here to fit him for a suit (you can trust her. She was Michael J. Fox's girlfriend in Back to the Future... Iiiiiit's TRUE!). An Armani suit. He SHOULD feel like a king. Andre gets to be fitted as well.

The next morning... and Andre plans on taking the VO5 campaign and the $100,000 that goes with it. VJ feels like he's going to battle.

So here comes the limo to take VJ & Andre to the site of the final challenge. VJ's fine-tuning his presentation... but Andre has no notes and is nervous. That sort of piques VJ's attention. He thinks that he's going to wing it.

At the Rey Theatre... it's time for... America's Most Smartest Final Challenge. VJ hits the cue cards. He wants the judges to know him and to like him.

Andre... gets his secret weapon, the star of his presentation... Jeeeeeeeeeeeeff Pickel! He's nervous, but he's ready. He didn't have much time to prepare. "Him winning is falling on my shoulders." Pickel suggests that less is more, and he's going to take that to his presentation.

Showtime. Here to help judge are Dr. Leonard Effron, a genuine rocket scientist; Phil DeMuth, writer/investor/psychologist; Monique Lhullier, stylist; and Cameron Silver, fashion writer. Andre's going to concentrate on the stylies than the smarties. VJ... the opposite.

First is VJ. His theme: Strive to win. He quotes George S. Patton... and suddenly has audio issues. He cites the Jaguar challenge in his ability to cheat? No... "Adapt." So why is he still here? Youngest... Listening & learning... Professional... Strategic... Driven. He compares himself to a Labrador retriever, unlike Andre the Rottweiler.  "Little mistakes here and there, but I got through it."

Now here comes Andre, who, after being sent curve ball after curve ball, is ready to show the judges that he gives as good as he gets. Ladies and gentlemen... Mr. Jeff Pickel! Quote from VJ? "Pretty fricking sneaky. I applaud you for pulling that (^_^) off." Pickel points out his proud family background and his international manhood with the five languages (Pickel: "I barely speak English"). He talks his resume up and the competition up. Andre says that he believes in the product... so much so that Andre steps in to wrap it up. "It's not whether you're gay, black, white, or fat. Those things can change." Yeah, way to completely screw up Mary Alice's words, dude.

Not a proud moment, dude... Not. A. Proud. Moment.

Pickel says it went good. We'll see how it pans out. Ben's friends say VJ was very personable and very believable. They say that Andre bringing in Pickel was a very clever move. Mary Alice's friends say Andre is a little groovier and that VJ is a little polish. This is going to be a tough decision.

VJ and Andre are called back to present MORE in a debate format. VJ says it's about who you are and how much you can achieve. Andre... loves to interrupt. VJ says that he's proven his point by standing here today. Andre says that he has learned to follow advice and to communicate with other people. But he disagrees with VJ cheating through the entire competition. "It is integrity, respect for people. And I am America's Most Smartest Model, buddy."

Time for the final elimination.

VJ had the least experience coming in. Mary Alice was concerned about him staying in the competition, but he got better. He grew into a model. He's learned a lot through his process. Andre had a lot of energy going for him. He handled the others manfully, and he gave up trying to be the bad guy. VJ's presentation was like a sales presentation. Andre was more daring, though. Choosing Pickel was a stroke of genius. Everything was a plan with him.

VJ thought that Andre did what he wanted to do... albeit a bit cowardly. (Andre: "You're breaking my heart, man.") "He does not have the ability to present like I do." Andre gambled $100,000 on a competitor, which he thought was brilliance as its best. Andre is clearly the best model in the competition.

And now, the moment of truth. Andre Birleanu.... VJ Logan... Russian vs. American... Who will it be?

Ben?

"Like the Red Army at the Battle of Stalingrad at February of 1943... VJ, you have staved off defeat and vanquished your enemy."

VJ LOGAN IS AMERICA'S MOST SMARTEST MODEL!! VJ praises Andre for being a great competitor. Andre wishes him the best. It was an interesting journey, and he played the game with honor and integrity. "Anytime you miss me, just look into a magazine. SOVIET!!"

Final words from the winner of the VO5 campaign, all of his pictures as a portfolio form, the 100,000 presidents... and of course, the title of America's Most Smartest Model. Thoughts? "My mother told me, 'If given an opportunity, VJ, you can accomplish anything.' I'm so thankful for everyone who believed in me."

Now the question remains... is there anyone more smarter, more modeler than VJ? That, my friends, is a question only you can answer. Casting's underway for season 2 at smartestmodel.vh1.com. Go there if you think you have what it takes.

Until season 2, this is America's most smartest not-model Chico saying... Do us all a favor and go read a book.
