Last time, it was Daniel’s birthday, and Mary Alice took it upon herself to make sure he wouldn’t forget it... and the fact that he’s still in a competition. Well, he was. He was asked to leave when all was said and done. Some birthday present. Now just half a dozen remain.

Angel’s worried about doing what she needs to do to stay in the game. Andre, meanwhile, is relishing in his alliance with Rachael, Pickel, and Brett. There’s still a couple of people to get rid of, namely VJ & Angela.

Note du jour in the science lab! With shoes! And training gear! “Today, you will be put through a grueling test of both your bodies and minds. Divide into teams of two, put on your workout gear, and meet me in an hour.”

Andre wants a moment to breathe after VJ suggests that they team up. Andre doesn’t want to compete with him, though. VJ & Angela are left to team up. His brains... her beauty. Can they do it? The other teams: Brett & Pickel and Rachael & Andre. It’s “us” vs. “them”. “Tonight is the night that VJ & Angela are going down.”

Edge Challenge: Survival of the Fittest

The models have to think fast (rapid fire questions) so that their partners don’t have to run fast. Team with the most questions right gets the easier setting. The least gets the hardest. Timer is set at 60.

Pickel answers for Brett. Pickel chokes on speed. Angela answers for VJ, passing on several easy ones. Rachael answers for Andre... nervously. Andre: “(^_^)”. Pickel gets 10 out of 13. Angela gets 13 out of 16. Rachael gets 13 out of 16. Tie ball game! VJ & Andre will run at level 6. Brett gets level 9. It’s up to Andre, he says. Brett thinks that everyone else is in better shape than them. Let’s see how this one pans out.

After five minutes, everyone’s still up. 5:46, though… Brett stops. Andre prays to God and all His armies that he gets VJ out. VJ is running for America. It’s Rocky vs. Drago all over again, folks.

After 40 minutes... we’re still running! This is getting intense. Let’s raise the speed to level 7. VJ holds onto his sidebars. Andre calls foul. Again.

After an hour, we’re up to 8. Andre... after 1 hour 13 minutes... stops. VJ wins it. Andre is busy thinking about tomorrow’s runway show. The edge: a changing station closer to the stage than the others.

Later, VJ gets a letter... and a twist. They get to pick one more model to share their space.

Angela gets pissed about the power of four talking about how much runway experience she has. She has “enough” experience. Angela gets to the runway to hammer out all of the kinks in her walk.

Callback Challenge: Quick Change Runway Show

As a reminder, Rachael gets to join VJ and Angela at the nearby station. The others will have to take on a much further station... involving a balance beam, monkey bars, tire run, and a dizzy bat. Helping judge is a model casting agent John Pfeifer. He will have no idea that there’s an obstacle course involved.
In 15 minutes, each model must model 3 outfits. Whoever does that the best wins.

Rachael: “You know how hard it is to run in stilettos?”

VJ, Angela & Rachael are first. But Rachael has a wardrobe malfunction in regards with her heels. The other two nail it. Rachael has yet another malfunction, this time involving earrings. The three finish with two minutes to spare.

The “winners” are next. Andre is first to the runway after the crazy bats. His strategy, going one after the other. Brett is first, then Pickel, then the Soviet. On the way back, Brett takes a nasty fall. After the second pass... Pickel goes for the James Bond look. “The name is Pickel. Jeff Pickel.” Overall, a good demonstration of teamwork, but will they make it in time? Yep.

Rachael thinks that the two malfunctions add up to the end of the run.

Now to judgment.

VJ was great on the runway, but wonders about the pimp roll. Rachael got thrown off, but gets brownie points for keeping on. Angela was amazing, the first time she was “a model.” Andre winked and kissed. Those are two no-nos. Pickel looked a bit cheesy. Brett looked pissed. “You are only as good as your last gig, honey.”

Winner... Angela! She’ll be back next time. The other five... on the brink.

Andre asks Angela if she can just stand there and take credit for Andre teaching her the walk. Angela didn’t say that no one helped her. She also didn’t say that anyone did.

The only way that you can stay safe is if you win the challenge.

Elimination

All eyes are on Brett to go home, thanks to the hissy fit he gave to Mary Alice after her criticism. Pickel thinks that he’s on the chopping block.

Both ladies stepped it up today. They’re both safe. VJ is also safe, which leaves Andre, Pickel, and Brett to head down the runway.

Brett was combative and disrespectful, questioning Mary Alice as a judge. Brett continues to argue his place in the competition. Pickel bombed the Think Fast challenge and hasn’t really grown as a model individually. Andre is the most experienced, but today on the runway he was a disaster. Andre says that this is nothing new to him, because he’s done it before. But Ben is quick to cite that the three have worked together. “I’m very loyal to my friends,” Andre says, outing his fellow teammates. VJ: “Try and get me kicked off. You just made a mistake.”

Ben, take it.

“Like the Soviet space station Mir upon its reentry into Earth’s atmosphere... Pickel, you have been obliterated.” He’s surprised, but at the same time, he didn’t compete on the level he’s capable of. Brett was teary-eyed. Pickel: “It’s like blood.”

The final five remain in the hunt to make love to $100,000. Who’s going to take who down? Find out next time.
