Episode 16.9
November 5
Jason:
I am a proud WANKER.
Gordon: Bullocks to both of you
Chico: You're a writer, you're going to need assistant to keep everything
righteous and square, right?
Gordon: If I wanted that, I would have asked Monica Lew...never mind.
Jason: Never mind indeed. PG-13
Chico: Good night ... Okay, welcome back. Time to play a game we call
Higher-Lower. Simply put, we give you a question and a number. Predict higher or
lower.
Jason: Noted.
Chico: If it was any easier, it'd be 1 vs. 100. Starting with the obvious
question...
Looks
like this strike is a done deal. How long do you think it'll last? Higher or
lower than... 6 MONTHS.
Jason: I am going to say Lower...but not by much...this is going to be big news
when it starts to affect shows like soaps.
Chico: This isn't going to be like the baseball strike, but yeah, it's going to
be close. Lower, but not that much lower.
Gordon: I think this will last until all 3 organizations come into strike. If
that is the case, then it will last at least 8 months, which means HIGHER.
Jason: But the money is too big and too large to make this a short one. We are
talking BILLIONS with a B here.
Gordon: Too much money on the line for this to end quickly or gracefully.
Chico: I didn't say it was going to be quick.
Gordon: Next one. First of all, lets play taps for Quiznation
Chico: dun dun duuuuuun.... dun dun DUUUUUUN...
Jason: (plays taps and pours a 40)
According
to GSN's press release, they will have a better and more exciting interactive
experience planned. Higher or lower of us seeing said experience in....3 months.
Chico: Higher.
Jason: You have got to be kidding. Way Higher.
Chico: They have to get the funds for said experience first, and even then, it
may not be THAT much better than Playmania was.
Jason: Right...what Chico said.
Chico: At its height, Playmania was the show... AT ITS HEIGHT.
Jason: Right again.
Chico: Then the Quiz Scandals did a number on the company producing and
bankrolling the show.
Gordon: I think it almost has to be lower. GSN, as we all know, is in trouble
ratings-wise. If they don't get the revenue through advertising, they need to
get it through interactive play, and that would mean getting their interactive
television presence back. They need a company to step in and step in soon, or
GSN may not be around in 3 months. Lower.
Chico: Of course, most of GSN's woes come from being an independent cabler with
little to no appealing output.
Gordon: Then they better create some, and quickly.
Chico: Yep. Next up... Speaking of appealing output...
Last
week, we made mention of us wanting GSN to rerun Deal or No Deal from the
beginning in primetime... Will it happen, though? Higher or lower than ONE YEAR
Jason: I am going to say HIGHER. Deal or No Deal has to get off the CNBC
bandwagon first.
Chico: Not necessarily. GSN and Fox Reality are jointly running the Amazing
Race.
Jason: Ok.
Chico: That said. Something major still has to happen. I don't see it in the
foreseeable future. HIGHER.
Gordon: Higher, for another reason. I don't see how GSN, after plunking 6
million (cough) on amazing race and 6.5 million (cough cough) on the World Poker
Tour can afford the price tag DOND will be offering.
Jason: That's a good point.
Chico: Didn't even think of that. Better hope you see a return on the WPT
investment.
Jason: You will.
Chico: I know. But the question is what size it'll be. Next?
Gordon: Next one...
Project
Runway 4. This already has controversy written all over it. This is also the
flagship of Bravo's Reality Competition line. What will the debut net? Higher or
lower than a 3.0?
Chico: 3.0. For Bravo, this is a big hit regardless of anything.
Jason: I am going to say Higher.
Chico: Higher.
Jason: This is on par with the Next Food Network Star .
Gordon: Higher as well. People have been waiting for this and Bravo will not be
disappointed. Next one?
Chico: Next up...
The
Amazing Race, after being held from fall, is returning this week. Another one of
our held favorites... 1 vs. 100... When do we see season 2 of that? Higher or
Lower than 2 MONTHS
Jason: Lower...they are casting right now.
Gordon: Higher. I think NBC is going to wait to see what happens with the
strike. If it happens, and if it's as bad as we all think it will be, they will
need the episodes in the can when - not if, but when - the scripted episodes run
out.
Chico: I'm going to go higher as well, but it'll be close. I think the first NBC
casualty gets it.
Jason: Phenomenon perhaps?
Chico: Maybe.
Gordon: I don't think Phenomenon gets to 2 months. If there wasn't a strike
looming, I'm not sure if it gets to 2 weeks.
Chico: I'm really hoping they put it out of its misery before even that.
Gordon: Last one...
In
3 weeks or so, Brad Womack picks out a new girl. In 2 months or so, New York
picks a new man. The combined amount of time in their relationship will
last....higher or lower than 1 month?
Jason: Lower
Chico: Lower. I'm' guessing 21 days tops.
Gordon: Brad doesn't seem to have a connection with any of the women left. New
York looks like she'd rather spend time on tv than in a relationship. Lower.
Much lower.
Chico: New York says she's not doing this again, though, so you know... stranger
things have happened.
Gordon: She may not go again on TV - but that doesn't mean its because she found
her man. And the amount of time left on this game - lower than 10 seconds.
Jason: (plays 24 clock)
Gordon: We are done here. we get to play more after the break.
Chico: Hang on :-)
Gordon: Hanging...
