Sink or Swim
April 14

Things got explosive last time as not only did the gamers bring Halo 3 to life, but Mark decided that a little innocent fun with Ciji wasn't that bad. Yeah about that... Turns out it was. In the end, the rivalry between Jamal & Dante was settled on the big stage, when Jamal and his partner Robert took out Dante and his partner Mark in elimination. Now seven remain.

Ciji doesn't want Dante to come back. For obvious reasons. Jamal returns with a warning: don't underestimate him. Hopefully it's the end of the drama.

And now... MORE drama. Ciji talks to Mark about "The Kiss", and Mark says that they're just friends... Something that'll never happen. This explodes into a fight in the bedroom, much along the same lines as what happened between her and Dante. Mark's beginning to think that maybe Ciji was the problem all along. REALLY, NOW...

Amy's basically begging the two not to do this.

REAL-LIFE CHALLENGE: All the Way Live!

This week's game is "NBA LIVE 09" (EA Sports for multiplatforms), the most realistic basketball sim out there. It's versus mode puts players head to head while incorporating some of the highlight moments that your favorite players are known for. To win, they need balance and precision.

The gamers will have a chance to practice their skills, as Chelsea and Jamal prove to warm up pretty nicely.

Today's challenge is is a dunking contest. Swoozie's a little excited. But it's not going to be here. Today, it will be in... a swimming pool. There will be three rounds to dunk on a hoop over the pool. You'll have a springboard to help you get maximum air. You'll be judged on style, form, and accuracy. The highest score after three rounds wins.

Today's judges: 12-year NBA veteran Spud Webb, originator of the monster dunk Darryl "Chocolate Thunder" Dawkins, and four-time Olympic gold medalist and the first woman to dunk in the WNBA Lisa Leslie.

Round 1... Swoozie leads with 28 (Spud: 9, Lisa: 9, CT: 10)

Round 2 sees Chelsea try to bust out the 360. That... was pathetic. Jamal gets a 1 from Lisa, and Jamal challenges her to a one-on-one.

Round 3... wasn't even a contest. Swoozie gets triple aces (11s). He wins this one EASILY with 84. He wins two tickets to see his hometown team, the Orlando Magic... and an autographed basketball from the judges.

Last place with only 39 points.. Jamal. The order: Swoozie, Chelsea, Mark, Amy, Ciji, Robert, Jamal.

Mark can't wait to show off his skills. Amy says she's not good AT ALL. She'll be up late practicing. Mark says that he won't teach everyone EVERYTHING he knows. Even Ciji, who's sort of surprised. She's a little upset at the drama he caused, but she needs the help.

Rob approaches Jamal about the last Elimination. Rob wants him to throw the Isolation Challenge. He'll feel more confident if Swoozie wins than if Mark does. Jamal calls this part of his mental game. Another key element: telling him that Ciji and Mark are making up.

The top finishers in the RLC feel good going into the Iso Challenge. Jamal doesn't feel too happy, as he just hopes to make it to the final six. The stakes get higher and higher, and no one knows this more than Swoozie, who says that this is all about survival.

ISOLATION CHALLENGE: NBA Live

For this week's challenge, all seven will play the LA Lakers against the Xbox's Houston Rockets. Two quarters. Scores will be combined with your RLC scores for an overall ranking, and the last place finisher will head to Samsung.

The scores are combined. And in last and up for elimination tonight is... CIJI. She came in 5th in the RLC, and dead last in Isolation.

In first place today... MARK! He was in third yesterday, but tied for first today. He will choose Mark's challenger for the Elimination Challenge.

Ciji's not looking forward to whoever Mark decides to choose, because she knows that he's gunning for her after the argument. She gets down to practice. Amy does not want another girl to take on Ciji, and she definitely doesn't want to be the one to take her out.

Amy pulls Mark away to try and save her own hide. Mark lets her know that whatever she says, his mind is already made up. He thinks that no one will expect what's coming.

Up on the roof, Mark calls out to challenge Ciji... HIMSELF. He just made his decision.

Ciji feels like crap. She knew this was coming, but it still hurts. The two did not talk one bit afterwards. There is no way that Mark will throw this match whatsoever, Prodigy says. Swoozie, having been in Mark's place before, doesn't know what to make of this.

Mark says that you have to give Ciji her space. The rest of the gamers agree to give Ciji all of their time for the rest of the night to keep things on the up and up... so we all practice hard. Ciji ends up playing as the San Antonio Spurs, the best team for her style.

Mark, on the other hand, is theoretically talking his team out. This is going to be a tense match. Do not underestimate anyone. Mark thinks that she would know a little more about the game, especially after a night with Jamal. Ciji's here for her daughter. Mark's here for the contract. All the drama is about to get settled today at Samsung.

ELIMINATION ROUND: Dead or A-Live

Simply put... Score more than the other guy. Let's go to the tale of the tape.

CIJI THORNTON VS MARK SMITH
Los Angeles Home turf Tahlequah, OK
StarSlay3r Handle applesauce
Rhythm Games Specialty First Person Shooters

Ciji has her lucky jersey. Mark has his skills. Players, take your positions. Tonight's game is a full game, four two-minute quarters, with Ciji playing as the San Antonio Spurs, while Mark gets to play with the Detroit Pistons... and GAME ON!

Mark draws first blood, but he soon gets a little cocky. Ciji needs to stay strong in the paint in order to get through this match. At the end of quarter one, Mark leads, 6-4. Second quarter... Mark comes alive. Pro-Tip: if your teammates have a straight line for the baskets, you have to go for the alley-oop. At the half, it's Mark, 10-6. It looks like both offenses are good. This game will be decided on D. Mark went for the alley, and... oop, there it is! At the end of quarter, Mark still leads, 14-6. Fans of Ciji, you need to get on your feet. She narrows the gap a bit, but time is running short. Mark knocks down the TREY BALL.. Ciji answers with a trey of her own, but Chauncey Billups with the exclamation point. Mark wins this one, 20-13.

Ciji wanted to settle the drama once and for all... and it has been settled. For her, it's GAME OVER.

Next time, six will enter, but only two will leave, as we head to the final for $100,000 and the title of WCG Ultimate Gamer.
