Week 6:
It's Lucky to Go Out There And Break a Leg Unless You're
Joe Theismann
October 24
You're about to see choreography, stage settings and
costumes. No, Monday Night Raw isn't on until the nxt hour, because we got
Broadway Week on the DWTS show. No breaking into song and dance impromptus, just
dancing and scoring. So what do you say? Let's get crackin'!
Up first, Rob & Cheryl doing a cha-cha to "Walk Like A Man" from "Jersey Boys."
They acted as if they were backup for Frankie Valli's group and danced the whole
cha-cha on the floor. We go to the judges. Carrie Ann said she saw much charisma
than she's ever seen before, Len said it was clean & precise and Bruno said it
didn't have impact and power. Let's power-up the scoreboards....
CARRIE ANN: 8 LEN: 7 BRUNO: 7 Total Score: 22
They get a good start to this show!
NExt up, Nancy & Tristian doing a foxtrot to "Always Look On The Bright Side of
Life" from "Monty Python's Spamalot." Although they looked kooky at first, both
did arm work later on and did kicks, but nancy took the kiss that fell Tristan
down. Now we get up with the judges, Carrie Ann called it a show stopper, Len
said her posture wasn't there and Bruno said she did a foxtrot. And we do
this...
CARRIE ANN: 9 LEN: 7 BRUNO: 8 Total Score: 24
They shoot into the lead!
We have now David & Kym doing a quickstep to "We Go Together" from "Grease." A
little hand jive to start off and Kym did a back jump. After all this dancing,
streamers came out. Guys, we've not yet had a winner and we're only at 6 couples
left, but we go to the judges. Carrie Ann said they were out of sync today, Len
said it was a bit rough around the edges and Bruno said they were so charged up,
they were like livewire. Wiring in the scoreboard...
CARRIE ANN: 8 LEN: 7 BRUNO: 8 Total Score: 23
They squeeze in to 2nd place!
Alos doing a quickstep is Ricki & Derek to "Luck Be A Lady" from "Guys & Dolls."
Both did ticks with the hat and by the end, Derek did a cartwheel in the band
area and it was energetic. Now to the judges. Carrie Ann it was so quick &
precise, Len said she proved her talent and Bruno said it had dazzling
showmanship. Here come the numbers....
CARRIE ANN: 10 LEN: 9 BRUNO: 10 Total Score: 29
They catapult into the lead!
Chaz & lacey will now tango to "The Phantom Of The Opera." I can't believe why
Chaz wore a mask, but it's in the spirit of the character and he sure did. Now
we go to the judges. Carrie Ann said she wants more content, Len said the hold
should've been tighter and Bruno said it was a different Phantom. Let's get a
score check....
CARRIE ANN: 7 LEN: 6 BRUNO: 6 Total Score: 19
Sent to Last place!
Hope & Maks Rumba to "Seasons Of Love" from "Rent." All this dancing made both
of them sit down by the end, We stand up to the judges. Carrie Ann said she sees
the effort putting in her movement, Len said he's never lost faith in her and
Bruno said it didn't quite gel. Wanna know why? This....
That better? Now the scores....
CARRIE ANN: 7 LEN: 6 BRUNO: 7 Total Score: 20
They stay one spot out of last!
J.R. & Karina will end the first half with a quickstep to "Hot Honey Rag" from
"Chicago." J.R. read a fake newspaper and saw Karina go from the stage to the
dance floor in a few seconds. After this dance, we go to the judges. Carrie Ann
said can she give another Tony?....okay, Len said he is truly relentless and
Bruno said he's done an eleven o'clock number. Let's check the scores before
intermission:
CARRIE ANN: 10 LEN: 9 BRUNO: 10 Total Score: 29
They tie for the top!
It's intermission now and the scores look like this....Ricki & J.R. are 1st with
29, Nancy in 2nd with 24, David in 3rd with 23, Rob with 4th with 22, Hope in
5th with 20 and in last place, Chaz with 19. Yeah, I know, intermission's over,
but it's the moment you've all been waiting for...our big group dance number!
The guys were on the tables while the girls stepped down on the entry staircase.
Everybody picked their ponies and it was showtime. Maks almost took a spill on
Hope and Ricki almost took a tumble on Derek, but they stood their ground and
conquered it. After a big bow, the curtain falls down on another night of
dancing and fun. One couple must get cut immediately. The results show will tell
the tale tomorrow. See you guys later.
