Week 2: Getting a Lucky Bounce
September 26

Last week, Metta World Peace team was at war and got blasted the first week. This week, the quickstep and the jive will be on hand. Expect any fast breaks in every routine. Let's get to it!

Up first is Hope & Maks doing a jive to "Girlfriend" by Avril Lavigne. They had to use soccer jerseys to match her interest to this routine. Now let's kick it with the judges. Carrie Ann said she was flirtatious, Len said it was fast and Bruno said all the power is not enough. But it's already enough to have a lead first and let somebody else overtake it. Like this...

CARRIE ANN: 6 LEN: 7 BRUNO: 6 Total Score: 19
ANd they start out good in front!

Next is Kristin & mark doing a quickstep to "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" by Marilyn Monroe. Kristin had to channel her inner Marilyn herself and Mark ended it with a flip and a fall flat on his back. Nice one, gymnast! Now to the judges. Carrie Ann said it was gorgeous, Len said it wasn't good as she looked and Bruno said he is bedazzled. Like the game Bejeweled Blitz, we get the scores faster...

CARRIE ANN: 8 LEN: 7 BRUNO: 7 Total Score: 22
And they take the lead!

Next is David & Kym doing a jive to "Runaway baby" by Bruno Mars. David was acting silly sometimes, but he was just plain fun in this dance. David put the hat on Kym and she tossed it out while David took off his golden suit jacket. Later, he went through Kym and by the end, she pushed him but he got up. Talk about power! Now to the judges. Carrie Ann said he was too loose, Len said he's speechless and Bruno said he's like a runaway train. Let's boost to the scoreboard...

CARRIE ANN: 6 LEN: 6 BRUNO: 6 Total Score: 18
They now belong in the basement.

Elizabetta and Val will now quickstep to "Don't Get Me Wrong" by The Pretenders. Val was reading teh Italian dictionary and had to put it up while Elizabetta waved at the camera. After this dance, we go to the judges. Carrie Ann said she totally came back, Len said it was better than last week and Bruno told her to keep working and we go on....

CARRIE ANN: 7 LEN: 7 BRUNO: 7 Total Score: 21
They get 2nd place as a result!

We have Rob & Cheryl doing a jive to "Surfin' Safari" by The Beach Boys. Rob did a surfing gesture on a real surfboard and leaped into the floor. It was pretty fun for all, and we go to the judges. Carrie Ann said he's much better than her sister Kim, Len said it was great improvement and Bruno said he started to blossom. Let's water and seed to make the numbers grow.

CARRIE ANN: 7 LEN: 7 BRUNO: 7 Total Score: 21
They tie for 2nd place!

Carson & Anna quickstep next as they dance to "Walking Back to Happiness" by Helen Shapiro. They looked so much like a 50's sitcom and danced like it was today. Now let's travel ahead with the judges. Carrie Ann said she saw great improvement, Len said if he held his fork & knife to Anna, he'd starve to death and Bruno said he was dancing on banana skins. Let's slip to the scoreboard...

CARRIE ANN: 6 LEN: 6 BRUNO: 6 Total Score: 18
They tie for last place!

Right now, Ricki & Derek doing a jive to "Hey Ya!" by Outkast. Both did mesmerizing arm work and Derek almost took his shirt off despite wearing only a suit jacket and pants with shoes. On to the judges. Carrie Ann said it was the best jive of the nigh so far, Len said it didn't disturb him a little bit and Bruno said she did those flips & kicks correctly. Let's correct teh numbers problem:

CARRIE ANN: 8 LEN: 7 BRUNO: 8 Total Score: 23
And they shoot into the lead!

Next, Chaz & Lacey doing a quickstep to "Love Is All Around" by Joan Jett & The Blackhearts. Chaz seems to have a somewhat amount of trouble despite his, ahem, weight, but he handled it and took it there. To the judges. Carrie Ann said he handled it well, Len said he got through it and Bruno said it was like watching a little Ewok dance with princess Leia. Watch this now...

CARRIE ANN: 6 LEN: 5 BRUNO: 6 Total Score: 17
We haev a new leader for last place!

Chynna & Tony will now jive to "The Boy Does Nothing" by Aleisha Dixon. Chynna did a back & forth slide and that was the only highlight you would see. Now to the judges. Carrie Ann said she has natural grace, Len said it was good but it wasn't great and Bruno said she's just trying to come out. Let the numbers come out.

CARRIE ANN: 7 LEN: 7 BRUNO: 7 Total Score: 21
And they tie for 3rd place.

On now to Nancy & Tristan doing a quickstep to "It Don't mean a Thing (If It Ain't got That Swing)" by The Andrews Sisters. Even though it was a nice quickstep, the end part had Nancy in a nipple slip. Can you say NSFW? (C-Note: ew?) I knew you could. Let's skip ahead to the scoreboard...

CARRIE ANN: 6 LEN: 8 BRUNO: 7 Total Score: 21
It's now a 3-way tie for 3rd place.

And finally, J.R. & Karina doing a jive to "Jump, jive & Wail" by The Brian Setzer Orchestra. The intro made it look like the 30's and fit perfectly to this routine. Karina did a flip over and both did arm work. Carrie Ann was it was great, Len said it was a great dance and Bruno said he has a feel for the music. Le's feel the scores one last time.

CARRIE ANN: 7 LEN: 7 BRUNO: 8 Total Score: 22
If this was a 23, the score would've been tied, but because of that lift, they get 2nd place.

We've crossed teh finish line and in first, Ricki & Derek with 23, J.R, and Karina with 22, as does Kristin & mark, 21s go to Elizabetta, Rob, Nancy and Chynna, Hope with 19, Carson & David with 18 and at the bottom is Chaz with 17. Tune in tomorrow to find otu who just crashed & burned. See you guys later!
