Week 5: It's Lucky You Have Your Members Only Jacket
October 17

Let's go back in time where Tivo was only a VCR, Wii was only an Atari 2600 and Directv was only a cable box. It's 80's week and these 8couples go back in time to where Double Dare, new Edition and Hulk Hogan were all the rage. See how you remembered this decade. Here we go, folks.

Up first, Hope & Maks doing a tango to "Livin' On A Prayer" by Bon Jovi. Hope had a red ress anda black purse while maks played rock star. Then, she took it off. After this routine, Hope played rock star, and we now play with the judges. Carrie Ann said her lines were awkward, Len said she was too willowy and Bruno said she got the 80's to a T. One scoreboard fits all....

CARRIE ANN: 8 LEN: 8 BRUNO: 8 Total Score: 24
Off to a great start!

Next up, Carson & Anna doing a jive to "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" by Wham! They shed from warm-up suits to cheerleaders in a few seconds. They whipped themselves into a frenzy. On to the judges. Carrie Ann said it's week 5 and there's no technique, Len likes him despite getting letters from him and Bruno said it was loopier than a Looney Tune. Let's circle the scoreboard...

CARRIE ANN: 6 LEN: 6 BRUNO: 7 Total Score: 19
Way down in the basement!

Third, Nancy & Tristan doing a rumba to "True" by Spandau Ballet. Nancy looked at a picture and ripped it to shreds. There was also a back heel slide by nancy. Now, the true words from the judges. Carrie Ann said it was nice, Len said it was simple & effective and Bruno said he pitched it excatly right tonight. And here's the pitch...

CARRIE ANN: 7 LEN: 7 BRUNO: 8 Total Score: 22
They get 2nd place as a result!

J.R. & Karina do a samba to "Conga" by Gloria Estefan & The Miami Sound Machine. J.R. beat conga drums and Cheryl shook maracas. Everything else was a party. Now, the judges. Carrie Ann said It was <Expletive> amazing, Len said look at him and Bruno said he is a sex machine. Turn on the scoring machine...

CARRIE ANN: 9 LEN: 9 BRUNO: 10 Total Score: 28
And they shoot out into the lead!

Halfway home and Rob & Cheryl do a rumba to "Hello" by Lionel Richie. Rob blew out a candle and Cheryl did a foot drag. Even Rob tried to split, but we split to the judges. Carrie Ann said every week he makes vast improvements, Len said he took command in that dance and Bruno said they start to see Rob the heartthrob. Let's finish with this...

CARRIE ANN: 9 LEN: 8 BRUNO: 8 Total Score: 25
They now belong in 2nd place.

Chaz & Lacey samba to "Get Down On It" by Kool & The Gang. Once they pretended to be in a bar scene, Chaz took off his black suit jacket and it vastly improved in all of him. Here's the judges right now. Carrie Ann said it wqas the most dancing he did in all routines, Len said it was a gallant effort and Bruno said he's got the bounce going. Let's pogo-stick to the board...

CARRIE ANN: 7 LEN: 7 BRUNO: 7 Total Score: 21
They stay one spot out of last place!

David & Kym tango now to "Tainted Love" by Soft Cell. Kym went her own way down the stairs and evenly so, she put her foot on teh judges table. How nice. Let's go to the judges. Carrie Ann said he has to work on musicality, Len said it had a great 80's feel and Bruno said he was a randy rascal. Let's scoot over to the scoreboard...

CARRIE ANN: 8 LEN: 9 BRUNO: 8 Total Score: 25
They tie for the 2nd!

Last up, Ricki & Derek doing a Foxtrot to "Easy Lover" by Phil Collins w/Phillip Bailey. They did the roger rabbit and Derek slid onto the floor. They even did that dance again by the end, but Derek wore shades the whole time. Now we peek in with the judges. Carrie Ann said she should have stayed in hold, Len said it wasn't her best, nor her worst and Bruno said the dance didn't gel. Let's glue the numbers together...

CARRIE ANN: 8 LEN: 8 BRUNO: 8 Total Score: 24
They tie for 3nd!

It's like, so over. Here's the final tally: J.R. with 28, David & Rob with 25, Ricki and Hope with 24, Nancy with 22, Chaz with 21 and Carson in last with 19. Just like an arcade game, it'll be game over for one couple. The results show will reveal all. See you guys tomorrow.
