I Love My Peppers
Pulverized
July 27 |
Welcome back, my friends to
the torture that never ends here at Alton Brown’s
International House of Sabotageᵀᴹ. This week, collecting
their $25,000 stipend are Jason, Ruddy, Marcus and
Heather. Remember, the winner keeps anything left of
their bankroll.
First on the menu tonight is a Cuban sandwich. After
Heather forgets mustard, she pays $7,500 to take the
guy’s baskets and share one with random ingredients,
then makes Jason use a cigar cutter in place of all his
utensils for $11,000, and Jason gets double whammied
when Ruddy makes him cook with a vice for $5,000. And
arriving for judge duty this week is Antonia Lofaso, who
eliminates Jason and his entire $25,000 bankroll.
The leaderboard shows Marcus in front with $25,000, then
comes Ruddy who has $20,000, and in the rear is Heather
holding onto $6,500. How about for the second round we
have some stuffed peppers, but before the shopping can
start, Marcus pays $5,000 to swap out Ruddy’s basket
with a small jar. After the shopping, Ruddy gets revenge
on “The Assassin” by paying $10,000 to pulverize his
peppers, but then Marcus decides to make the other two
share a cooking station cramped as small as my desk for
$7,600. Antonia returns to taste and eliminates Ruddy,
returning $10,000.
And going into the final round, we have $12,400 for
Marcus and $6,500 for our blogger Heather. We have
tiramisu for dessert tonight. And Marcus, forgetting
sugar and coffee while in the pantry, spends $6,600 to
make Heather use coffee stirring sticks and filters to
mix in. So, Heather has $6,500 at stake while Marcus has
$5,800 to win on the final judgement of Antonia. Her
final verdict is that Heather is the victor, a winner
for food bloggers everywhere.
We’ll turn up the heat next week with more sabotaging
and steaming.
