You Wanna Pizza This?
June 29 |
It’s almost the 4th of July
weekend at Alton Brown’s International House of
Sabotageᵀᴹ so get ready for some culinary pyrotechnics
with Roman, Mike, Alison and Gerry who each get that
ruin-the-other-folks’ chances stipend of $25,000.
First up tonight… It’s soup and salad. Roman, a former
Army interrogator, spends $3,000 to swap out cooking
utensils by giving Mike two soup cans, Alison ladles and
Gerry bread, and then spends $14,000 for a garden for
Mike to get his ingredients, none of which would make
sense for soup and salad. Mike then spends $6,500 to
shackle Roman to an arm bar. And Antonia Lofaso, fresh
off her victory in the “Judging the Judges” contest, is
here to do her job. That job includes her decision to
eliminate Mike, who brings back $18,500.
Onto Round Two, where Gerry and Alison have retained
their original $25,000 and Roman has $8,000. Pizza
anybody? That’s what we’re doing. Alison joins the party
by spending $1,000 to make Roman hold a phone to his ear
while making his meal, and Gerry spends $8,000 to make
Alison make a prep table from pizza boxes. Antonia, the
native New Yorker, says that Roman’s pizza wasn’t good
enough for him to return $8,000.
Heading down the stretch, Alison holds onto $24,000 and
Gerry is not far behind with $17,000. Let’s make some
key lime pie for our final meal. Gerry spends $9,000 to
make Alison harvest limes from Mexican beer bottles. So
on the line here is Alison with $24,000 and Gerry with
$8,000. Antonia returns and declares the winner to be
Gerry.
Have a safe and sane Independence Day weekend, and heed
the words of Bob Barker. Please get your fireworks
spayed or neutered. Join us next week for more of the
Cutthroat Kitchen hijinks.
