THE STORY SO FAR! The
Knockouts have produced a few of the greatest bouts to
ever grace the stage... and with steals in the mix, it's
anything goes. Now the second round of Knockouts is
about to pitch bout.
Everyone is still in play,
as the coaches are given one more Steal a piece.
George Horga Jr.
Stephanie Anne Johnson
The decisions will be
harder than ever before.
#TEAMADAM: Lina Gaudenzi vs. Preston Pohl
Both are unique in their
own ways, but who will be the most unique in this
Knockout? Lina's going with "I'd Rather Go Blind", while
Preston will take on "No Woman No Cry" by Bob Marley.
Blake thought it was a
great vocal on both ends, but Preston had better
control. Lina thought her song choice suited her.
Christina thought Preston had a bit of a range issue.
ADAM CHOOSES: PRESTON! (@PrestonPohl)
So will someone take up
Lina's cause? Nope.
#TEAMBLAKE: EG Daily vs. Ray Boudreaux
This one is about
matching strength. We have someone who makes a living
off her voice singing "I Can't Make You Love Me" by
Bonnie Raitt. Ray, on the other hand, has more raw
talent. He will channel that with "Hard to Handle" by
Christina says that they
have raspy textures, but EG had a better rasp. Cee Lo
BLAKE CHOOSES: RAY! (@RayBoudreaux).
#TEAMXTINA: Anthony Paul vs. Jacquie Lee
Young pop singers are
going at it under the lights. Anthony will offers "The
Other Side" by Jason Derulo, while Jacquie will counter
with "Stompa" by Serena Ryder.
Cee Lo says Anthony
wasn't at his best. Adam says that there was a lot of
#TEAMCEELO: Stephanie Anne Johnson vs. Tamara
A different take from
Stephanie Anne with "Don't Know Why" by Norah Jones and
Tamara going another way with "No One" by Alicia Keys...
Adam says that this song
choice says a lot about you. Stephanie was too
unfocused. Blake is sold on Tamara. Christina loved both
ADAM CHOOSES: TAMARA! (@TamaraChauniece).
... and Christina is stealing BACK
#TEAMADAM: James Wolpert vs. Juhi
Both of them are very
different, but who will thrive? James' rendition of
Boston's "More Than a Feeling", or Juhi's take on
Creedence Clearwater Revival's take on Marvin Gaye's
Christina says that
they're both talented, but James had the most potential.
Cee Lo says that James performed it like a rock star,
but Juhi was more consistent.
ADAM CHOOSES: JAMES (@JamesPWolpert).
#TEAMBLAKE: Austin Jenckes vs. Brandon Chase
Both of them are country
twinged singers. But who can bring out the most emotion?
We have Austin singing "I'll Be" by Edwin McCain. He
wanted to do a full acoustic. Instead, we're getting a
band. Brandon's singing "Even If It Breaks Your Heart"
by the Eli Young Band.
Christina thought Austin
was lacking dimension, while Brandon trailed off. Adam
says they both belong them.
BLAKE CHOOSES: AUSTIN (@AustinJenckes).
And with that, Team Blake is FINALLY complete.
#TEAMCEELO: Caroline Pennell vs. George Horga
Caroline is a tiny sweet
infectious thing. George.. is none of those things. He's
going to take "Because of You" by Ne-Yo to counter
Caroline's "The Way I Am" by Ingrid Michaelson.
Blake says George was
flat... and that Caroline makes him want to buy a cat
and a pink blanket. Christina says Caroline's angelic.
CEE LO CHOOSES: CAROLINE! (@carolinepennell).
And thus makes TEAM CEE LO! And if Adam steals, then HIS team is
... Adam doesn't steal, which means that
he's got to steal the winner of this next Knockout.
#TEAMXTINA: Will Champlin vs. Matthew Schuler
This is going to be an
epic, a scion of rock vs. an indie rock star in the
making. Matthew's going with "Cosmic Love" by Florence +
the Machine. Will will counter with "When I Was Your
Man" by Bruno Mars.
We know that Adam is
going to take the loser of this battle. It's just a
matter of who...
ADAM CHOOSES... AGAIN:
So to review...
Stephanie Anne Johnson
