BATTLE ON!
#TEAMXTINA: Jacob Poole vs. Matthew Schuler
Call it the Battle of the
Sons of the Preachermen; 20-year-old Jacob from Georgia
takes on 20-year-old Matthew from Pennsylvania. Jacob's
transitioning from church music to pop-rock, while
Matthew's going to go from the church to... indie rock.
This one can go either way, as Christina picks for
them... "My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light
Em Up)" by Fall Out Boy.
Cee Lo thought it was a
well-paced battle. Adam calls it a "musical ass-whupping."
Matthew was his favorite, but Jacob held on strong.
Blake's holding out for blood. He goes with Jacob.
CHRISTINA CHOOSES: MATTHEW... and Jacob
stays in the dark.
#TEAMCEELO: Kat Robichaud vs. R Anthony
Out of Raleigh comes
29-year-old Kat. Out of Tampa comes 33-year-old R. Kat
is a glam rocker with a really high kick. R is a gospel
singer with a wife and two kids. So expect something
interesting to come out of a duel performance of "I
Don't Want to Miss a Thing" by Aerosmith.
Adam loves Kat's
intensity. Blake agrees, admiring the gun show.
Christina gives a case for the dissenting opinion,
saying that R has crazy control.
CEE LO CHOOSES: KAT. Pardon me for a
mo.... NORTH CAROLINAAAAAAAA! Okay...
In hurry up mode...
- Team Cee-Lo: Cole Vosbury def. Lupe
Carroll (Toto's "Africa")
- Team Blake: EG Daily def. Sam Cerniglia (Bonnie Raitt's "Something to
Talk About")... Let's not kid ourselves. We knew how this was going to
end.
- Team Adam: Ashley DuBose def. Justin Blake (Christina Aguilera & Blake
Shelton's "I'm Just a Fool")
Now to the marquee match of the night.
#TEAMBLAKE: Monika Leigh vs. Ray Boudreaux
Monika, 28 from Colorado,
and Ray, 25 from Louisiana, took different paths to get
here. Monika wanted to trade a hotel job for a career in
music, while Ray was looking for a new start for his
family. Both are here because Blake gave them three
reasons to be here... Season 2... Season 3... Season 4.
They're going to cap the night with a badass blues
classic, Grand Funk Railroad's "Some Kind of Wonderful".
Christina thought that
Ray was a little more consistent. Cee Lo says Ray can
"sang", while Monika got lost in the record. Adam thinks
that the sky is the limit for Ray.
BLAKE CHOOSES: RAY
Now NBC has promised that
something we've NEVER seen before, the most unlikely
steal in Voice history, is about to take place. ... and
there it is. CEE LO GREEN hits it! He thinks he's got
the in...
