Are You Smarter Than a 4th Grader? - August 30

Last time, the team had to restore power to the town after Dr. Dark used it to create, fear of all fears... an evil clone of Stan. Now only four heroes remain in the quest for immortality.

Everyone misses Whip-Snap, but at the same time, everyone is relieved that it wasn't them on the road home. Hygena, on the other hand, now bears the stress of being the final girl left.

Next morning, Stan transmits the next mission in code. That message will have to be translated by a group of 4th graders at 3838 Rosemead Avenue. Stan dispatches his friend, and 4th grade teacher, Mr. Morita, to dispense top secret letters. In each one is 15 coded questions. Each correct answer corresponds to a letter that will decode the message. The students will be available to help. You'll have five minutes to decode the message...

Each hero gets five students to help.

Defuser wants to put the students at ease first. Hyper-Strike makes a serious misstep, revealing that his last name is Stork. Parthenon thinks that this challenge should've been renamed "Are You Smarter Than a 4th Grader?... and I believe I am." Hygena takes a different approach, letting the kids answer the questions.

Now our questions are done, so let's make out the messages. Hyper-Strike realizes that the puzzles are part of a bigger puzzle. The final message...

REPORT TO THE INTERSECTION OF SOUTH SECOND STREET AND EAST TWIN AVENUE DOWNTOWN.

There's a camera at the globe.... That's not good. Dr. Dark knows where they are... That's DEFINITELY not good. Evil Stan's about to jam communications and talk his own game. That's... vile.

Sounding a little different, Evil Stan wants the heroes to do some good deeds... and look like a bit of a (^_^) while they're at it, borrowing some pieces of clothing, rummaging through bags, and ... singing. It wasn't until Hygena was told to stop traffic when she started thinking... wait a minute... these are strange tasks...

The heroes report to a warehouse on West 5th Avenue, where Evil Stan tells them to search the shipping container for the lost pencil from a couple of episodes ago. Hygena finds it... but not before they become trapped by Dr. Dark, who reveals EVERYTHING from the last day.

Oh, and they'll be shipped to the depths of despair in an hour. There has to be a way to escape, right? Let's... BEGIN THE ACTION!

Here we have a few knick-knacks. THERE we have the tools needed to escape. The object is to make a pipe from the knick-knacks here, and get the tools from there. And the pipe... doesn't hold.

And it's getting hot and smelly...

The heroes tie their belts and scarves and etc. to get the pipe back. Success! But will it be for naught? Five minutes remain. They use the pipe and the "rope" to get the tools... namely, the crowbar. Crowbar is gotten! Now let's get the hell outta here! The heroes kick the door open and... sweet freedom.

Mission Report:

1) Hygena could have been more involved.
2) The Defuser shouldn't have dropped the pole.
3) Parthenon was pushy in getting his point across.

Defuser thinks Parthenon is going to be safe. Parthenon thinks Hygena is going home.

Time for an elimination.

A superhero must always trust his or her instincts and not blindly follow orders. It's a lesson that all of the heroes had to learn the HARD way. As for the code, Parthenon was ingenious, but didn't let the kids do the work. So he was liked the least. He had to be a role model for kids. Defuser relied on others too much in the crate. Hygena recovered the lost pencil, BUT she needed to step up. Hyper-Strike was the most beloved by Mr. Morita's class... BUT he put those kids as risk by revealing his secret identity.

Coming forward and in danger of elimination: Hygena... Parthenon... and Hyper-Strike.

Hygena begs for another chance to learn from her mistakes. Simply put... Parthenon WANTS this more than the others do, but differently. Hyper-Strike dedicated his whole life to this. He knows he has the potential to inspire people.

Leaving tonight... is Parthenon. With the children, he failed at displaying the heart of a hero. "Walking away from here, I have no regrets. I will be Parthenon, and bling will be my thing."

The next morning... that's a frickin' huge Evil Stan.... Anyone got a Megazord?

To be continued...
