Stage 2 Heat 2
December
19

Last week on Ninja Warrior, hundreds of contestants lined up in Los Angeles to take on the course. Of them, the 30 challengers with the best times were invited to compete in stage 2, the semifinals. The 15 with the fastest times will go on to the final stage, and the 10 players who are the fastest there will win a trip to Japan to compete on the Sasuke course.

As a reminder, here are the standings after the first heat.

LEADERBOARD after Heat 1
Shane Daniels - 1:39.2
Andrew Karsen - 1:41.2
Rick Huelga - 1:41.3
Geoff Iida - 1:48.1
Joop Katana - 1:49.0
Gabe Nunez - 1:50.9
Sam Reynolds - 1:55.5
Jacob Smith - 1:58.1
Gabriel Cortes - 1:59.4
Tra Truong - 2:09.6
Elias Worsencroft - 2:34.5

Next is Sarasota, FL's Sean Morris. He doesn't have the most graceful of landings, but he's got the speed thing down. He slams home a time of 1:32.7 for first place.

David Gruner is next... but he takes a dive on the Pipe Slider.

Brian Orosco, a two-timer on the Sasuke course, had no problem with the first stage, but he seems a little unfocused this go around. He's working to close the distance... and he does so in 1:454.9 for 5th place.

Travis Furlanic regained focus, timing in at 1:32.78. Matt Marshall has 1:53.3. Jazon Khazi... failed on the Tarzan Swing. Dorian Cedars failed on the Warped Wall. What about Caine Sinclair? He gets caught up on the Jumping Spider, but he ends up making up valuable time on the rest of the course, ending up with a time of... 1:41.1, knocking out Elias Worsencroft.

Next up is Sasuke veteran Levi Meeuwenberg. He's been on the course three times, getting as far as the Third Stage, but he'd like to go back and take on the massive monolith at the Final Stage. Levi REALLY wants to be one of the final 10. He SKIPS one of the Jumping Bars to hold down first with 1:28.7

Fastforwarding, Ryan Cousins times in at 1:36.4, while Chris Delfin slips on the Tarzan Swing.

Four challengers left. The first is stuntman Rich King. If you remember, he finished the entire First Stage course in 35 seconds. By that time, he's already halfway done with the Tarzan Swing. Rich almost got wet at the Jumping Bars, but he refocuses and hits the buzzer at 1:35.2, sending Jacob Smith packing.

Next is Paul Darnell. He's crushing the Pipe Slider. Paul is on pace to match the top time of 1:28.7, held by Levi Meeuwenberg. But Paul gets tangled in the Cargo Climb, giving him a time of 1:34.8.

Next is David Campbell, who timed out on the Sasuke course in Japan. Will he surpass his nephew Travis Furlanic? Levi's time is in danger here.... Just under it with 1:30.7.

The final challenger of the day is 26-year-old William Spencer. He had the lead going into the round, but that time is history. He needs to beat a time of 1:50. He resets at the end of the Jumping Bars and locks in a time of... 1:23.1! He OWNS the #1 spot!

So the final leaderboard going into the Final Stage is...

LEADERBOARD after Heat 2

WILLIAM SPENCER - 1:23.1
LEVI MEEUWENBERG - 1:28.7
DAVID CAMPBELL - 1:30.7
SEAN MORRIS - 1:32.75
TRAVIS FURLANIC - 1:32.78

Paul Darnell - 1:34.8
Rich King - 1:35.2
Ryan Cousins: 1:36.4
Shane Daniels - 1:39.2
Caine Sinclair - 1:41.1
Andrew Karsen - 1:41.2
Rick Huelga - 1:41.3
Brian Orosco - 1:45.9
Geoff Iida - 1:48.1
Joop Katana - 1:49.0
