"Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, jack frost nipping at your nose, yuletide carols being sung by a choir and folks dressed up like Eskimos, ________ ______...."

Time now for the karaoke game show "everybody knows." Last time, Nicole Staggs proved once and for all that southern Greek girls can play the game. Now, after last night's Thanksgiving day meal, we're ready for some leftovers.

Daniel Walters is up. He's an elks club member and a wedding singer. Can he follow in the footsteps of Haley Scarnato? Sort of. Here's his setlist:

POP             1980'S

R&B              DISCO

ROCK            LEGENDS

AMERICAN FAVORITES   DIANA ROSS

             LOVE SONGS

With that said, let's go. His first move: American Favorites. Here they are:

  • Bad, Bad Leroy Brown-Jim Croce

  • Kokomo-The Beach Boys

He gets Bad, bad Leroy Brown. We ready!

Well the South side of Chicago
Is the baddest part of town
And if you go down there
You better just beware
Of a man named Leroy Brown.

And it's bad, bad Leroy Brown
The baddest man in...IN WHERE?

Daniel's answer: The whole damned town. He locks it in....damn RIGHT! Next up: Legends. Have these:

  • Strangers in the Night-Frank Sinatra

  • Dock of the Bay-Otis Redding

He gets Dock of the Bay. Let's dive in!

Sittin' in the mornin' sun
I'll be sittin' when the evenin' come
Watching the ships roll in
And then I watch 'em roll away again, yeah

I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Watching the...STOPPER!

Daniel's answer: Tide roll away. But will that be a washout quickly? He locks it in....SPLASH! It's right! Next one, please: Diana Ross. The 2 songs from the diva are:

  • Endless Love w/Lionel Richie

  • Touch Me in the Morning

He gets Endless Love. Here we go.

HIM: My love,
There's only you in my life
The only thing that's bright

HER: My first love,
You're every breath that I take
You're every step I make

HIM: And I
HER: I-I-I-I-I
HIM: I want to share
BOTH: All my love with you
HIM: No one else will do...

HER: And your eyes
HIM: Your eyes, your eyes

BOTH: Tell me....STOP! Ok Daniel, GO!

Daniel's answer: How much you care. But do you care that it's the right answer? He locks it in....CORRECT! What's next? Disco. Get down with these:

  • Celebration-Kool & The Gang

  • You Make Me Feel Like Dancing-Leo Sayer

He gets Celebration. Dance to the music!

Yahoo! This is your celebration
Yahoo! This is your celebration

Celebrate good times, come on! (Let's celebrate)
Celebrate good times, come on! (Let's celebrate)

There's a party goin' on right here
A celebration to last throughout the years
So bring your good times, and your laughter too
We gonna celebrate your party with you

Come on now

Celebration
Let's all celebrate and have a good time
Celebration
We gonna celebrate and have a good time...FREEZE IT!

Daniel's answer: It's time we come together. And he locks it in.............WRONG-O! Uh, oh, no "Wiis" for Daniel's Elks club this Christmas, ha ha ha ha.....anyway, it's actually "to." It's time for Daniel to walk out with 0, and have Tricia Kelly from Cambridge, MA. to walk in. She's a vocal coach for kids. Perfect for this program. Here's the menu:

POP                    PARTY SONGS

R&B                     IN THE MOVIES

ROCK                  CLASSIC ROCK

1980'S                 MOTOWN

              LOVE SONGS

With that aside, let's get started with....Motown, and these 2 songs:

  • Ain't No Mountain High Enough-Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell

  • Dancing in the Streets-Martha & the Vandellas

She gets Dancing in the Streets, which would be later by David Bowie & Mick Jagger. Let's dance!

Calling out around the world
Are you ready for a brand new beat
Summer's here and the time is right
For dancing in the streets
They're dancing in Chicago
Down in New Orleans
In New York City

All we need is....IS WHAT?

Tricia's answer: Music, sweet music. Pretty friggin' sweet! She locks it in....HITS THE SWEET SPOT! That's correct. Her next one: Love songs, and these:

  • Bad Case of Loving You-Robert Palmer

  • Hopelessly Devoted to You-Olivia Newton-John

She gets the one from "Grease." Here we go.

Guess mine is not the first heart broken
My eyes are not the first to cry
I'm not the first to know there's
Just no...STOP! Just say no to what, Tricia?

Tricia's answer: getting over you. She locks it in...down around, up over & in for the SCORE!  Her next move: Party songs. Let's get down with these 2:

  • All Night Long-Lionel Richie

  • I Love the Nightlife-Alicia Bridges

She gets "I Love the Nightlife." So do we. Let's roll!

Please don't talk about love tonight.
Please don't talk about sweet love.
Please don't talk about being true
and all the trouble we've been through.
Ah, please don't talk about all of the plans
we had for fixin' this broken romance.
I want to go where the people dance.
I want some action ...Go ahead, Tricia.

Tricia's answer: I want to live. She locks it in....YES, YES YES! Her next game plan: Classic Rock. Go with these:

  • Lola-The Kinks

  • Get Off My Cloud-The Rolling Stones

She gets Lola. la-la-la-la-Let's go!

I met her in a club down in old Soho
Where you drink champagne and it tastes just like cherry-cola [LP version:
Coca-Cola]
C-O-L-A cola
She walked up to me and she asked me to dance
I asked her her name and in a dark brown voice she said Lola
L-O-L-A Lola lo-lo-lo-lo Lola

Well I'm not the world's most physical guy...STOP! What's next?

Tricia's answer: But when I looked in her....Well, she changes it with: But when she squeezed me tight. But she uses the 2 words backup to make sure. The first 2 are right and she locks it in...y-y-y-YES! What's next? Rock. Rock out with these:

  • Proud Mary-CCR

  • Brass In Pocket-The Pretenders

She gets Proud Mary. Let's roll!

Left a good job in the city
Workin' for the man ev'ry night and day
And I never lost one minute of sleepin'
Worryin' 'bout the way things might have been

Big wheel keep on turnin'
Proud Mary keep on burnin'
Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river...blanks are up, go Tricia!

Tricia's answer: Cleaned a lot of plates in Memphis. Hey, that's something cool in my hometown. But she locks it in....SPOTLESS! It's right for $50,000. Next one: In the movies. Catch a flick with these:

  • Eye of the tiger-Survivor

  • Footloose-Kenny Loggins

She gets Eye of the Tiger. DING DING!

Risin' up, back on the street
Took my time, took my chances
Went the distance
Now I'm back on my feet
Just a man and his will to survive

So many times, it happened too fast
You trade your passion for glory
Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive

It's the eye of the tiger
It's the thrill of the fight
Risin' up to the challenge
Of our rival
And the last known survivor
Stalks his prey in the night
And his fortune must always be
Eye of the tiger

Face to face, out in the heat
Hangin' tough, stayin' hungry...STOP HERE! She blanks out. She calls out the perfect time for 3 lines. They are:

A-They stack the odds, so we can't make ends meet

B-They stack the odds, still we take to the street

C-They take our job so we're out on the street

She goes against the odds and locks it in with B which is....CORRECT! Next one, please: 1980's, and these:

  • Every Breath You Take-The police

  • I Can't Go for That-Hall & Oates

She gets I'll be miss,er, Every Breath You Take. Here we go!

Every breath you take and every move you make
Every bond you break, every step you take
I'll be watchin' you

Every single day and every word you say
Every game you play, every night you stay
I'll be watchin' you

Oh, can't you see
You belong to me
How my poor heart aches
With every step you take

Every move you make and every vow you break....STOP!

Tricia's answer: Every chance you take, every step you make. But she thinks it's not right. She calls out Michael who has 3/4 of it and walks out. But who cares? Tricia walks out with $100,000. Let's walk out with the correct line: Every smile you fake, every claim you stake.

And that's the nail in the coffin. Tune in again to see who else will bury the competition. As usual, it's not what you know about it, it's what you sing about it.
