"All right stop collaborate and listen
Ice is back with my brand new invention
Something grabs a hold of me tightly
Flow like a harpoon daily and nightly, ____ __ ____ ____?"

It didn't take long for a break to return to a show like "Don't Forget The Lyrics" to recharge the batteries after a summer of singing. The question is: "Will it Ever Stop?" Answer: No. Because we're back with more singing than you ever thought possible.

Getting the 2nd cycle underway is Taya Asimos from CA. who loves to cook. can she survive a kitchen of lyrics? Here's the menu:

POP                     1960'S
R&B                      IN THE MOVIES
ROCK                    LEGENDS
KC & THE SUNSHINE BAND        LOVE SONGS
          AMERICAN FAVORITES

Her first pick: Pop. The 2 songs are:

  • Hooked on a Feeling-BJ Thomas

  • I Ran (So Far Away)-A Flock of Seagulls

She gets Hooked on a feeling. Let's go!

I can't stop this feeling, deep inside of me.
Girl, you just don't realize, what you do to me.
When you hold me, in your arms so tight,
you let me know...FREEZE IT! What's next?

Taya's answer: Everything's all right. And she locks it in and all of it is...........RIGHT! Next move: 1960's. Here are the songs from that era:

  • Build Me Up Buttercup-The Foundations

  • Happy Together-The Turtles

She gets Happy Together. So do we. Let's go!

Imagine me and you I do
I think about you day and night
It's only right
To think about the girl you love...OKAY STOP! And what, Taya?

Taya's answer: And hold her tight. But hold on a second, she decides to use her 2 words backup to make sure and has the last and the 2nd word right, and then she locks it in....CORRECT!  Her next category: R&B. See if she knows these 2:

  • Neither one of us-Gladys Knight & the Pips

  • Me & Mrs. Jones-Billy Paul

She gets Me & Chipper...er, Mrs. Jones. Let's go!

Me and Mrs. Jones, we got a thing going on,
We both know that it's wrong
But it's much too strong to let...STOP! Let, what?

Taya's answer: This feeling subside. But she uses her dad with the answer: To go on. But she goes on to the 3 lines and they are:

A. It stop now

B. It go now

C. It end now

She gets B, and it....is....CORRECT! No more backups to burn and she gets KC & The Sunshine Band. The 2 songs by them are:

  • Get Down Tonight

  • I'm Your Boogie Man

She wants to get Down tonight. Let's get down!

Baby, babe, let's get together.
Honey, hon, me and you.
And do the things, ah, do the things
That we like to do.
Do a little dance, make a little love,
Get down tonight.
Get down tonight.
Do a little dance, make a little love,
Get down tonight.
Get down tonight.  FROZEN PIZZA!

Taya's answer: Baby, babe, I'll meet you. She locks it in........CORRECT! Next category: American Favorites. They are:

  • Ladies Night-Kool & The Gang

  • Magic Carpet Ride-Steppenwolf

She gets "Ladies Night" Here we go.

Oh, yes, it's ladies night
And the feeling's right
Oh, yes, it's ladies night
Oh, what a night
(Oh, what a night)

Oh, yes, it's ladies night
And the feeling's right
Oh, yes, it's ladies night
Oh, what a night

Girls, y'all got one (one)
A night that's special everywhere....STOP!

Taya's answer: From New York to Hollywood. She locks it in...from way downtown....BANG! $50,000!  Her next plan: Rock. 2 songs to choose from:

  • Listen to the Music-Doobie Brothers

  • Paradise By the Dashboard Light-Meatloaf

She gets "Listen to the Music." Let's go!

Don’t you feel it growin’, day by day
People gettin’ ready for the news
Some are happy, some are sad
Oh, we got to let the music play
What the people need
Is a way to make ’em smile
It ain’t so hard to do if you know how
Gotta get a message
Get it on through....STOP!

Taya's answer: Whoa, listen to the music, I don't know....but she bails out at $50,000. For $100,000, it would've been: Oh now mama, don’t you ask me why. And that is why we love "Don't Forget The Lyrics." Next to try for a million is Vanson Quaries from Topeka, KS. who is a minister. He's ready for a million-dollar offering. To the board we go:

  • Cats in the Cradle-Harry Chapin

  • Brown Sugar-Rolling Stones

He gets Brown Sugar by D'Angelo, er, Rolling Stones. Let's rock!

Drums are beating cold, English blood runs hot
Lady of the house wonderin' where it's gonna stop
Houseboy knows that he's doing alright
You shoulda heard him just around midnight

Brown sugar...FROZEN PIZZA!

Venson's answer: How come you taste so good? He locks it in....AND IT'S GOOD! His next plan: Pop, and you get this:

  • Rappers' Delight-Sugar Hill Gang

He gets Rappers Delight. and we're off!

I said a hip hop the hippie the hippie
to the hip hip hop, a you don't stop

to the rhythm of the boogie, the beat

Now what you hear is not a test...WHAT DOES STOP MEAN IN SPANISH!?

Venson's answer: I'm rapping to the beat. Word. He locks it in....CORRECT! next play: R&B, and they are:

  • The Way you Do the Things you do-The Temptations

  • When A Man Loves a Woman-Percy Sledge

He gets the Temptations song and we're rolling!

You got a smile so bright
You know you could have been a candle
I'm holding you so tight
You know you could have been a handle
The way you swept me off my feet
You know you could've been a broom
And babe you smell so sweet
You know you could've been some perfume

(chorus)

Well you could of been anything that you wanted to and....STOP!

Venson's answer: I can tell. And I'm telling he's right and he is....RIGHT!  Next move: Motown. Here are the 2 songs to ponder on:

  • You Keep me Hangin' On-The Supremes

  • Reach Out (I'll Be There)-The 4 Tops

He gets the Four Tops song. Giddyup!

Now if you feel that you can't go on (can't go on)
Because all of your hope is gone (all your hope is gone)

He gets Have you seen Her? Let's GO!

Oh, I see her face everywhere I go
On the street and even at the picture show
Have you seen her
Tell me have you seen her

Oh, I hear her voice as the cold winds blow
In the sweet music on my radio
Have you seen her
Tell me have you seen her

Why, oh, why
Did she have to leave and go away
Oh...oh...oh...oh...oh...

Venson's answer: to havin' someone to lean on. He locks it in....SCORE!  On to: Duets. They are:

Something in my heart always knew
I'd be lying here beside you
On my own
On my own
On my own

So many promises never should be spoken
Now I know what....STOP! What, Venson? he decides to use his 3 lines backup and gets......A which is...loving you cost, now we're up to talking divorce, but he burns his 2nd one to make sure. We're & cost are right, but he locks it in........YES! Next up is: Cover me. And they are:

  • Please Mr. Postman-The Marvelettes

  • On Broadway-The Drifters

He gets to go "On Broadway." SO do we. Let's go.

They say the neon lights are bright on broadway
They say there's always magic in the air
But when you're walkin' down that street
And you ain't had enough to eat...STOP HERE!

Venson's answer: The glitter rubs right off and you're nowhere. He locks it in, and after a do-over, he turns glitter....into....GOLD! $250,000. He gets "philadelphia Freedom" as his next choice from the Rock Anthems category. Let's go!

I used to be a rolling stone
You know if the cause was right
I'd leave to find the answer on the road
I used to be a heart beating for someone
But the times have changed
The less I say the more my work gets done

`Cause I live and breathe this Philadelphia freedom...TURNED STOP COLD!

Venson's answer: And I'm telling you I need some help from my man. And I am telling you, he's going with...the last backup and the answer is: From the day that I was...uh.....uh, nothing, but he bails out at $250,000. Good job. Here's the answer: From the day that I was born I've waved the flag. But the checkered flag means it's time to go back to the shop for the night. Tune in next week to see who's chasing a million. May I remind you it's not what you know about it, it's what you sing about it.
