They're not old enough to drink, but they're surely old enough to think. Fifteen of the best and brightest high-schoolers have descended upon the Jeopardy! stage to show the world who's got the best mental game. And in the end, one of them will outlast the others for $75,000 and the title of 2008 Jeopardy! Teen Champion, not to mention the bragging rights that go with the title.

This Winter Classic is another standard two-week affair, advancing the winners of this week's games as well as four wild-cards, high scorers among non-winners. All of this week's players will receive $5000, while the semifinalists will be guaranteed $10,000 for their participation.

The first runner-up receives $25,000 at least, while the second runner-up wins at least $15,000. As always, any and all winnings accrued depends on how far up the ladder a player goes.

So far, Zia Choudhury, Rachel Horn, and Katie Gill have been invited to compete next week. In 30 minutes, three more tickets... Maybe these three.

Daily Double: $1000 Vice Presidents. Naren, at $4600, is making quick work of the board with Becky at $800 and Hunter at $1200. He fronts $2000 on this: he was sworn in as vice president March 4, 1841 & as president April 6, 1841. "Who is John Tyler?" Correct for $6600 at the time out.

At the end of the Jeopardy! round...

$3,000 $3,200 $11,000
Hunter Becky Naren

Double Jeopardy! categories:

BIOLOGY THE STARS ARE OUT ON BROADWAY WHERE ART THOU? TEENS IN HISTORY MILITARY CAREER "YOUNG"

Daily Double #1: $1600 "Young". Naren was beating up on the board sadly with $21,000 to Becky's $5600 and Hunter's $8200. He bets $3000 on this: this 4-word "directional" phrase is widely attributed to Horace Greeley, but it's uncertain who coined it. "What is 'Go West, Young Man'?" Correct for $24,000.

Daily Double #2: $2000 Teens in History. Hunter with $10,200 can't catch Naren at $27,200, but he can come close with an all-in bet. Becky has $5600. He fronts $4000 on this: in 1771 this teenage marquis became a musketeer--good training for the American Revolution. "Who was the Marquis de Lafayette?" Correct for $14,200.

At the end of the Double Jeopardy! Round...

$15,000 $7,600 $29,200
Hunter Becky Naren

Final Jeopardy! category: AFRICAN AMERICANS

AS US SOLICITOR GENERAL IN THE 1960s, HE WON 14 OF THE 19 CASES HE ARGUED BEFORE THE SUPREME COURT

Correct response: who was Thurgood Marshall?

Becky's response: who was ? WRONG. Wager: $2500. Total: $5100
Hunter's response: who was Clarence Thomas Thurgood Marshall? RIGHT. Wager: $14,999. Total: $29,999.
Naren's response: who was Thurgood Marshall? RIGHT. Wager: $801. Total: $30,001.

SEMI-FINALIST: Naren Tallapragada.

Becky just did not want to play today. Hunter played on a rally monkey, while Naren used math skills to get to the top. Both will have to become more well-rounded players, Hunter more so, in order to last next week, because we'll be seeing them. Also joining us: Melissa Luttman from Tuesday's show.

Final quarterfinal tomorrow.
