Episode 4.7 Last time on the Deal, Layna Dugan celebrated her honeymoon by taking $27,000 from the Banker. In her case, $25,000. So nothing ventured nothing gained, but now, a male nurse is ready to operate on the board with seven Million Dollar Cases. Let's meet tonight's contestant. RICHIE BELL is a nurse, and has been for 18. He comes from a family of nurses, and they all think that it's a high-pressure job. He can handle the pressure, but can he handle what we've got in store tonight? Before we continue, though... Howie brings out his nurses... all 26 of them. Hellooooooooo nurse! Now this is a Million Dollar Mission game with SEVEN Million Dollar Cases.
Is one of them case #15? Richie combined the birthdays of his grandfather and grandmother and hopes for the best.
Starting with six. 26 (Lindsey) - $1,000,000... Six left. Good first round. Banker says he's going to crumble. The first offer....
... or five more cases. He works great under pressure... NO DEAL! Richie moved his whole family into a new house, so he's playing for his own room... and a swimming pool. "He wants to eat, drink, and float." 8 (Mariela) - $5 "He says you're going to play, crash, and burn." Two big cases went away, so the Banker drops the offer...
We have the entire nursing staff with him, Trisha (baby sister), Lynn (BFF), and Thomas (brother). they all say no deal... so does Richie. 12 (Lauren) - "You sure are good under
pressure." $100 Now the Banker has brought up a picture on the screen of Richie's bed... and his monkey Fluffy. The offer now...
AND... another phone call. The banker wants to throw in a pink girly bunk bed. It's worth $826.31, to bring the total value of the offer to $195,826.31. As tempting as that sounds, this is a NO DEAL and an invitation to therapy. 17 (Jenelle) - $1,000,000... Three left. Next offer is...
And on top of that, a test to see how well he handles the pressure. This one is worth $10,000 aside from the game... It'll have to do with his heart rate, which, right now, is at 115, thanks to a pulse oximeter. He's WAY above normal. Back to the game, though. He's playing for all the nurses back home that he fought for and won. Lewis (nephew) wants him to play on, so... NO DEAL! 23 (Aubrie) - $1,000,000... Two left. Now it's time for the second part of the Banker's Challenge... if he can hold his heart rate below 140 throughout the next offer, he'll throw in $10,000 on top of whatever you win today. Calling at 123. Breaking at 118... Back from break with 119... The offer is...
... at 118. There's a 67% chance that Richie is holding less than the offer. Richie talks about his family at 126... Answer at 131... NO DEAL... at 131! That's $10,000 in pocket. 25 (Hayley) - 21, 22, 23, and 26 all had the million. 25 has... $500! Next offer is...
We're up to a 40% chance that Richie is a millionaire. Mom says no deal. Richie... listens to momma. NO DEAL! 24 (Kelly) - four of the 20s had the million. One of them had $500. Kelly's case has... $200! The offer's taking a HUGE jump to...
It's a 50/50 chance at a million. The book says to go for it. He does. NO DEAL! Now to eeney-meeney-miney-moe... 5 (Ursula) - "So I'm moe?" $75,000 And the banker's starting to respect his game.
He's got a two-out-of-three chance that he's a millionaire. Is that a chance worth taking? Trisha says one more time... Lynn says finish it.. The crowd says one more time... NO DEAL! This is a very important case now... If this case has a dollar... he's a millionaire. 9 (Patricia) - $1.... million. One left. Back to even odds. The final offer of the game is...
Book says to play it. But the worst month for Richie is November. That's the last case remaining, NOVEMBER. The family says that it's not worth the gamble. Don't be greedy. It's more than what you wanted. Will he go with his mother... ... or will he go with his gut? He goes... with his gut. NO DEAL! Will he switch cases now? No. So he's going home with either a dollar or a million. Actually, he's got $10,000 in his pocket already. The bottom line is... Richie Bell is walking away with $10,000 plus... ... ...
... one dollar. That's $10,001. Apologies all around, but Richie is to be commended for playing bravely, albeit foolishly. The Million Dollar Mission continues next time. |
