Episode 4.5 The Million Dollar Mission continues as tonight's player will inevitably face a 50/50 shot at the million, even with five cases on the board. First, though, we need a player... TOMMY NOLTON III. He's 23 years old from Sterling Heights, MI, where he's a pharmacy tech. He wants to be an ER physician. His friends call him a "chick magnet". ... Yeah, I'll believe that. He also needs a new car, something greener. But to go green, you need to GET green. This is a Million Dollar Mission board with five million dollar cases
Is one of them in case #18? Tommy just picks it out and we just get it rolling.
Now to start with six. 14 (Pilar) - $1,000,000... four left. Except for that big case, this was a good round. Let's hear the offer.
... or five more cases. It's a lot of money, but it's not the million. NO DEAL! Before round 2, Tommy reveals that he's been crushing on Sara (#7) for a while now. He also reveals his motivation for being a doctor... his mom was a cancer survivor. Now he wants to get her a house. Five cases... 21 (Tameka) - Tameka ... takes her
time... $75,000 THREE big cases get knocked out, so the banker drops the offer...
Helping Tommy out in his decisions are Kimmy (mom), Stephanie (little sister), and Michelle (friend). All of them say no deal. That's what Tommy goes with. 10 (Anya... swapped out with one of the
drones...) - Tommy tries to make something happen here. And he does..
$400 It's a banker's board... but the banker's feeling generous.
It can buy him a new car. It can get him through the first year of school. It can't get mom her house. NO DEAL! Three cases to go. 24 (Kelly) - $300 And Tommy dances. And gets a hug from Sara, who joins the supporters. Oh yeah, that tosser, let's see what he says.
There's a one-in-four chance that Tommy has $1,000,000. It's a chance worth taking. NO DEAL! Banker calls again. He respects his guts and gives him a chance, a challenge to win a new car... a Smart fortwo passion. All he has to do is get in it. If you've ever seen a Smart mark, you know they're pretty dinky. But they're road-tested and road-ready. Looks like a problem.. but it isn't. So the $15,300 car is his, no questions asked. And there's even space for Sara to ride shotgun. Back to the game. Two cases. 26 (Lindsey) - $75 He's got the banker's running scared. The next offer is...
He's gone from a 1 in 4 to a 1 in 3 shot. He's got the car and the money for the house... but now he needs money... for the ladies. NO DEAL! 5 (Ursula) - "A dollar would be nice." ... It's NIIICE. Gone from a 1 in 3 to a 2 in 5. The banker responds in kind... well, as kind as he gets anyway.
Mom says he deserves the million... But does Tommy have what it takes? The family says one more... NO DEAL! 22 (Crystal) - $100 50-50 odds. The banker offers...
The book says you're risking at most $447,800 to play for over $500,000 more... and the odds are stellar. The family wants him to deal. "I'm crazy, but I ain't stupid." DEAL for $448,000! Good payday, but was it a good deal? Heidi had... $1000. Banker's final offer.. $693,000. Jenelle had... unbelievable... $200! Which means that Tommy had...
... needless to say, a bum deal. But still, he walks away with $463,300 in cash and car... and he got to be closer to a model than you or I ever will. The mission continues next time. |
