Episode 4.1
- The Season Premiere! For those of you who were watching and waiting, this is the season. Howie, entering from the board, NBC, and his model friends, all of whom are wearing the exact same things... RIGHT DOWN TO THE WIGS BORROWED FROM THE AUSTRALIAN VERSION, are promising that this season, someone WILL win the million. Will it happen tonight? Get ready, because it's season 4 of DEAL... OR NO DEAL! And to celebrate, the first player of season 4 will have 4 million dollar cases as we restart the Million Dollar Mission. Time to meet our first player... KOSHKA BLACKBURN from Glen Arden, MD. She's a singer who is known by the name "Ree Ree", like Aretha Franklin... Pay attention, this is relevant. Her dream is to be on Broadway. And she promises that she's going all the way. Remember, this is an MDM board with 4 cases worth the million.

For the first time this season, we're starting with six. 3 (Lisa G) - Not a good start. $100,000 The four millions are still in play. Meanwhile, we check out the banker's new digs, bough with the money he used crushing other player's dreams. The first offer of the new season...
Remember, Koshka said that she was going all the way... and that's what she's doing. NO DEAL. By the way, the Lucky Case is back... this season known as "Beat the Banker". Five cases... 8 (Amanza) - $75 The banker's calling again. Two millions are gone, so we're taking a bit of a hit.
Helping out from the sidelines are Gwen (mom), Nandi, and Sherman (best friends from high school). Koshka says that's not enough to do what she needs to do. NO DEAL 17 (Jenelle) - "Pretty close." $100 Great round, meaning a great offer coming.
... AND in addition to that, a session with Biggest Loser trainers Bob Harper & Jillian Michaels... PLUS a personal library of Biggest Loser DVDs and books... PLUS a year's worth of the meal plan... PLUS a lifetime membership to the online club (C-Note: Did we mention a new season begins soon? I think that's important). That all is worth $17,500, bringing the total value of this deal to $112,500. There is a 64% chance that Koshka is sitting on LESS than the offer. And this is what she wanted, a session with Jillian Michaels... She's not going to get it, though. NO DEAL! Three cases. 19 (Heidi) - $50,000 It's a draw board next, and the banker takes full advantage.
It bothers Koshka that no one with the million dollar case has gone all the way to the end with it. There's been some 17 people to do that. "Eighteen." Eighteen, sorry. The banker challenges Koshka to go all the way, and if she does, he promises that Koshka will meet up with Bernie Telsey in New York and a private audition for an upcoming Broadway musical. I should already tell you that "Legally Blonde" already has an Elle, so that's out. But that's not all, she'll also have a walk-on role on "Hairspray." The value of the challenge... $7000. BUT Koshka will have to turn down ALL of the offers that come her way. So the question now... DEAL... or NO DEAL? This is her dream... "Broadway! Here I come! NO DEAL!" Two cases. 13 (Leyla) - $300 And the banker does not like that round, because he's going to six figures. Or he has to, anyway.
Broadway is a change. $101,000 is a guarantee. And this is a dealer's board. Mom says go all the way. That's what Koshka does. There's a one in six chance that she's a millionaire. NO DEAL. Next case is... 25 (Hayley) - ... Wow she looks different. $750 The banker needs a break to calculate the offer.
Mom says NO DEAL. You know me, I always listen to mama... But will Koshka? ... Yeah. NO DEAL. Next case... 7 (Sara) - Yikes, $200,000 The safety net is GONE. The banker offers... call-waiting. And on the OTHER line... Aretha Franklin. And folks, it's not even sweeps yet. SHE offers...
"I just spoke to Aretha Franklin... so I'm just gonna say... NO DEAL!" 26 (Lindsay) - "Sing on, Ree Ree!" $10,000 Next offer...
Is it possible that she'll end up on Broadway with a million bucks? This is what we call win-freaking win. But the friends want her to pull out. What will Koshka do? NO DEAL! Huge risk. 24 (Kelly) - PENNY CASE! So the least she can go home with is $5000. But she'd really like the million. The banker makes his FINAL plea.
If she turns down this offer, she's on her way to Broadway. The book says to take the offer. But what does Koshka say? She wrote a check for herself for a million, believing that she had it. "The contestants never go all the way... and I'm crazy. I'm too crazy. But I believe if you speak it, it shall be done. So I'm going to say... NO DEAL!" So she's headed for Broadway... But is she headed there with a million dollar check? We'll find out in a moment, but first... will she swap cases? Nope. Which means, Koshka Blackburn, you are going to Broadway with...
That's a total take today of $12,000. Katie had the final MDC. Not a good way to start out, but hey, a dream fulfilled, and the season's just beginning. |
