It's a whole new ranch as Texas serves as proving grounds for eight city-slickers, fighting for $25,000 and the right to be called...  cowboy.

"It's a Chili Day in Texas" - July 15

Day 12: 7:30a. It's... a very cold day in Texas, indeed. Fawn was getting the fire started, which she thinks explains her absence in the face of breakfast. Drama erupts between Tera and Fawn over said absence.

2p: Today, we go wild steer riding. It's the last four-legged cow that the slickers will ride before the rodeo. Teams of three will mug, rope, and mount a steer. Fastest time wins. Judd demonstrates. "Release the beast!"

The teams are...
Team Corey: Corey, Sal, Fawn
Team Tera: Tera, George, Rachel

We have a heavy-set team versus a bunch of mental lightweights. Tera's team is first. Rachel grapples, while George mugs. Tera mounts... eventually. "We must've looked like idiots," Rachel says. Did we mention that Tera a) falls off the head, b) falls off the back, and c) gets drug in the mud? "George, what the hell are you doing?" Judd asks. "The strongest guy in the team, and you ain't doin' (^_^)!"

I think they killed it. More hamburger for Iron Chef, I suppose.

Do-over time: everything happens the way it's supposed to.

Now to Team Corey. It's time for Fawn to step up. And she does. Corey... gets a horn in the twig and berries. He can't punch his dogie, and George is just laughing. Fawn steps on Corey's head to get on the cow. "I was going back to LA!"

Final score: Friends of Corey: 1:42.59. Friends of Tera... 1:30. Who'da thought?

8p: tonight's dinner is a Texas chili eating contest, men versus women. You have 2:30 to eat as much chili as possible. It's George (against his will and his stomach) vs. Fawn.  Each team will cook their opponent's chili. Their idea: get the hottest stuff and put it in the bowl. Hey George, how's the girl's chili look?

"Deeee-licious!"

And Fawn, how about the dude's chili?

"Deeee-sgusting!"

Wait, there's one more twist. George... Fawn.. Switch bowls. That's right. You're eating your OWN chili. After some of the hottest chili this side of Texas, Fawn wins, 2 bowls to... a few bites. "It's gonna be a late night." Yeah, no kidding. Feeling regular?

Day 13: 11:30a: time to rope a large steer on a horse. Corey's first. He's ... close. Sal ropes himself. Georgie Porgy ... oops. "Next vic... uh, participant, Fawn." And she's a country mile away from her meat. Tera.. nails it. "Tera's the reason I do things like this," Rocco says. How about Rachel? She got... One horn! It's good enough!

7:30p: The worst event is nigh: the campfire. It's between Fawn and Rachel. "It's gonna be a tough decision," Sal says, saying that Rachel has turned about. Neither Rachel nor Fawn will be upset if they leave, because they share each other's success.

8:30p: The campfire. One of the ladies is going home, but first, the good news. Tonight's reward: a full-body massage... going to Tera. Now for the elimination. Who can learn the skills? Tera? She's off to the rodeo. Fawn... Rachel... Fawn... Rachel.... Fawn... is going home. "She's just a hair behind." "I regret nothing. I take so much away." With that and a few tears, Fawn gets the opportunity to tell her father of the adventure here. "He may not live long enough to see it, but he'll see it through my eyes." Sal was praying for Rachel to stay.

So half the rodeo trip is booked. Next time, the other half, but first, a cow drive.

We leave you now as Tera enjoys the fruits of her labor.
