"The Weakest Link" -
July 1
Day 4: 6:30a. Judd arrives. Cue the rebel yell...
Everyone awake? Good. Everyone gets to decide what
chores they get. George wonders why a bunch of heads are
butting, and "mainly it's because of Sal." Not much of
an issue, as Sal gets Corey's chores for the day.
12:30p - barrel racing
lesson. One of the four events in the rodeo. If you
remember from two seasons back, a real maven with a
horse, Fallon Taylor came to demonstrate. Well, she's
back, and she brought her horse with her. Again, it's
about speed, agility, and timing. You and your horse
will have to be a unit. Remember to turn with your horse
and give it hell come the final straightaway.
And for those keeping
score, Candy is still having trouble mounting. And there
she is. Everyone loses hats but pretty much keeps the
pace.. Except for Sal, which is likened to "the Titanic
turning past an iceberg." Corey once again is the best
at it, with a time of :17.12. But "his love for speed is
probably going to put him in the hospital." Worst (even
more so than Sal): Rachel, who is way too timid. "All
you guys are mounted equally. It's the person that'll
make the difference."
9p. Rocco makes a house
call. He needs to know who the "weakest link" is. That
person will get a pretty nasty chore. Corey thinks it's
Rachel, who needs to toughen up. That is the group
choice, as Rachel goes out to sleep with the horses.
Day 5: 7:30a. Rocco and
Rachel talk about internal struggle. Rocco is a sucker
for an underdog, as she realizes that success is
dependent on a positive attitude. The rest of the guys
join her as they prepare to go steer wrestling. It's
basically wrestling with steers. It's not about strength
and size. It's about technique. Corey's first... 16.44
seconds. Sal's the only other man to record a time. 14.9
seconds. "I just acted like he did something to my
mother." It's Rachel last but not least. She finally
tips her cow. "You see what one night sleeping out on
the ground does to ya?"
Later on, the guys
wonder who's going to have their moment in the sun at
the campfire tonight. And here we are.
The evals are up... and
the two people who get it are Rachel and Sal both for
the steer wrestling. Both are going to the Honky-Tonk in
town, as they go do some Texas two-stepping.
But the winners are the
rest of them, who go one night without hearing Sal's
mouth.
And another night ends
peacefully, but Rocco says that the good feelings won't
last long. "It's going to get a little crazy."
