Leg 5: Soi Sim Island, Vietnam - Chennai, India

PIT STOP: SOI SIM ISLAND, VIETNAM

The seven remaining teams now take off from their Pit Stop at the Soi Sim in the Halo Bay. They each receive the first clue of this leg of the race...

Fly to Chennai, India

Teams must now travel more than 3,000 miles to the city of Chennai, India. They will have to travel first by train to Hanoi. Due to Vietnamese regulations, tickets can't be purchased at an airline counter, so it's best to get them at a travel agency.

While Erwin and Godwin get to their Taxi, we see they're wearing amusing shirts. The fronts of the shirts read "LOST" and featured a photo of Phil. Underneath the photo was "REWARD: Bushel of Kiwis." The back of the shirts read "VOTE 4 CHO."

After riding the train to Hanoi, many of the twists and turns start out in the scramble for planes. All of the teams eventually arrive in Hanoi some together and the rest trailing only minutes to a couple hours behind.

The teams who got there are faced with a Detour...

DETOUR

Wild Things or Wild Rice
WILD THINGS: Teams must travel nine miles to Madras Crocodile Bank and secure a crocodile found at Pit 16.
WILD RICE: Teams must travel 200 yards on foot to a temple to creat a picture from an outline using colored rice.

Peter/Sarah, Dustin/Kandice and Rob/Kimberly chose "Wild Things" while Lyn/Karlyn, Erwin/Godwin, Tyler/James and David/Mary all chose "Wild Rice". However, both Lyn/Karlyn and Erwin/Godwin opted to switch tasks and complete "Wild Things".

The who've completed the task get this next clue...

Travel by bus to the Karthik Driving School.

The aforementioned place is the setting to the next Roadblock...

Who's the driving force behind this team?

This Roadblock requires one member of each team to complete an Indian driving test. Once a team passes it, they'll get an Indian drivers license and their last clue for this leg.

Drive to the next Pit Stop; The Chettinad House in Chennai.

PIT STOP: CHETTINAD HOUSE, CHENNAI, INDIA

Teams then must drive ten miles with the driving instructor to the Pit Stop. And when all of that is said and done, here are the standings...

Since Peter and Sarah won this leg of the race, they won a home gym system which they'll enjoy at the end of the race.

As for David and Mary finished last, they get word from Phil that this is the first of three predetermined, non-elimination legs. However, a little good news for them, unlike in previous races, they will hold onto their possessions and money. But they are marked for elimination, and here's why. David and Mary must finish first in the next leg, because if they don't, they'll be given a 30-minute penalty. And if Tom and Terry's broken rule in Vietnam were any indication, David and Mary could be Philiminated.
