Leg 2: Beijing, China - Terelj, Mongolia

PIT STOP: BEIJING, CHINA

Last week, we've seen a team of Muslim friends and a Hindi couple get Philiminated. Who else will be this week, let's find out?

After the usual 12 hour break of eating, sleeping, and mingling with the other teams, all of the remaining teams get their next clue...

You are headed to outer Mongolia. Travel 963 miles to Ulaanbaatar.

After the teams have booked their flight and have reached Mongolia, they then travel a total of 963 miles to a temple in Ulaanbaatar by bus and train.

ULAANBAATAR, MONGOLIA

The teams that went to the temple got to watch a performance which is conducted every ten minutes. When that is over the teams get their next clue...

Drive a jeep to a riverbed in Terelj, Mongolia.

At that point a few of the teams had problems getting their jeeps to start up enroute. The Jeep of Dave and Mary's broke down and eventually needed another jeep. This unfortunately could be a problem for them when they get to the end of this leg of the race..

TERELJ, MONGOLIA

Teams who make it there will now have to choose a pair of horses and travel to a meadow where they get a Detour.

DETOUR

TAKE IT DOWN or FILL IT UP?
TAKE IT DOWN: choose a nomadic shelter, take down the walls and roof and then fold it onto a camel.
FILL IT UP: lead a cart pulled by a hynik to a river 500 yards away and then fill up buckets of water and bring them back and empty them up to a line.

The decision was about evenly split, however, two of the teams faced difficulty on "Take it Down" and switched Detours midstream.

After the teams are done, they now must travel back to their jeeps with their horses. However, a problem occurred when Kellie and Jamie had lost a helmet.

Drive 47 miles to the Hotel Mongolia.

The teams who get there get to a Road Block...

Shoot flaming arrows at targets. Once you have completed, check into the pit stop.

PIT STOP: TERELJ, MONGOLIA

All of the other teams completed the task while it was still light out. But Kellie and Jamie appeared to have been significantly lost and delayed. By the time they get there, it was getting dark.

Peter and Sarah won this leg and they but Kellie and Jamies major car troubles, dropped them from sixth to last. And the damage was done by their difficulty of completeing the Road Block which led to their elimination.
