Episode 3.14 - Holiday Episode #1
December 11

Last time, two season 2 holdovers combined to win $60,000. But now this year's class is back in session, and, in what sounds like a beginning to a joke, a priest and a rabbi walk into a classroom...

First up is a 35-year-old rabbi who graduated from Birch Elementary School in Long Island, NY... RABBI RICK BRODY. He's also a teacher, so he should feel right at home.

Watching in the stands... Rick Miles and his family (including daughter Meghen, who bombed the $1 million question). The board for him...

How many times does the letter "E" appear in the following word?

The word is "argument". It has one E, but does Rabbi Rick know that? Yep.

Jonathan went with... two.

But that's why Rick is the former spelling bee champ.

Helping with the milestone is Olivia?

In the 1850s, the United States bought about 30,000 square miles of land as part of the Gadsden Purchase. The land is now part of two US states. Name them both.

Rick decides to PEEK at Jenna's paper... before he had a chance to walk away. Oops. Don't answer too quickly.

He was thinking California and Arizona. Jenna said... Georgia & Florida. "I'm pretty sure that's not it." He takes a $150,000 risk on... California? Nevada? Arizona? New Mexico? Gold Rush? Guessing?

He locks in California and Nevada...

And that's not right. The only way he can continue is if the correct answer is Georgia & Florida... which it is not. The correct answer... Arizona & New Mexico.

Bryce had it.

FLUNK OUT: $25,000

Next is a 57-year-old Episcopalian priest who graduated from Laney Jackson Elementary in California... THE REVEREND RICK MILES. Again, he's here for the second time (the first, he was in the audience as his daughter Meghen was a contestant who missed the MDQ. The question...
