Philip:
LOL
Jason: LOL
Chico: If it means free gas for all, I'm so for it.
Jason: Eat at Del taco...that's Free Gas for Life.
Travis: BLOCK STOLE MY JOKE!!!
Jason: You snooze, you lose, big boy.
Philip: You guys are funny. I haven't eaten at Del Taco in months.
Travis: Block, if you play PYL at GSC, I'm starting you with two Whammies.
Chico: Okay, we're back at "Think You Can Top This 2006," AKA WLTI.
Jason: (high five)
Rob: (high five)
Chico: BTW, you think I can join up the hosting ranks at GSC6? IF my team wins?
You know, go out on top? That sort of thing?
Jason: I hear you.
Gordon: You can join up even if your team doesn't win.
Jason: This is light stuff.
Chico: Yeah. The heavy stuff is about to start. It's time for 20 Questions, and
you, Philip, are in the hot seat. We ask questions, you answer them. Simple.
Philip: Oh boy
Chico: Eventually we'll get to 20. Again, simple.
Travis: 4-9-14-19. Fabulous.
Jason: Actually Travis its' 1-3-26-16.
Chico: Just don't play those numbers in Powerball tonight, Travis. Okay,
Gordon, you're first.
Travis: actually, it's 2-12-1-9-4
Jason: Right.
Gordon: 1) Well, we almost always start off with this one, but I'm going to
twist it a little. What did you say in your interview with the producers?
Philip: I work for a major hotel and casino in Las Vegas. He told me he likes
"Sin City". He asked me what I do there, and I said I sell tickets...to shows,
rides, and trips to the tower and when it gets quiet and boring, I practice
playing the Clock Game to myself.
Jason: That works.
Chico: It does.
Philip: :-D
Jason: 2) Ok, after that interview...did you feel you nailed it, bombed it...and
what was your reaction when Rich said those magic words?
Philip: A friend, Jaimal Ware, told me that either he or I will get picked to
play the game and when Rich called out my name, and I noticed the cue card with
my name on it, I was like WHOA I'm coming, I'm coming, and I'm ready to play!!!
Rob: 3) What was your gut feeling when you saw the game that you were going to
play?
Philip: I just prayed that I would excel in my game. When I saw the turntable
move and noticed the game, I said to myself, "Ok, Philip...you've been watching
the game for years, and you better not mess up"
Travis: 4) The strategy that you employed for Spelling Bee...was that planned,
or off the cuff?
Philip: Oh, um. It was planned somewhat, and a little off the cuff too
Chico: Organized chaos?
Philip: Exactly, lol
Chico: Following up on that... 5) It seemed like you were playing off of the CBS
affils of the places you lived.... where have you lived?
Philip: Chapel Hill, NC; Winston-Salem, NC; Washington, DC; Mitchelville, MD;
Durham, NC; Greensboro, NC; Las Vegas, NV
Chico: Completely objective, but Chapel Hill's a beautiful city :-)
Philip: You bet it is
Rob: TAR HEEL!
Chico: Word. :-)
Gordon: 6) When you play Spelling Bee, you're in the position to either take
$2,500 (usually) or a car. What factored into your decision to go for it?
Philip: I was thinking about going for the money but I decided to put a little
bit of "Karen" of PYL fame and try out for the car and it worked!
Gordon: What happened to your last car?
Philip: My car got stolen a year ago
Gordon: So winning that car really meant a lot.
Philip: Yeah.
Jason: #7--Bob Barker...your impressions?
Philip: I didn't expect him to be very nice to me, but he was. I think he was
very upset when I didn't make it to the showcase
Chico: But you had a good time, at least.
Philip: Right on
Chico: Right on.
Rob: 8) Did you feel vindication when the lady that beat you in the Showdown,
lost her showcase?
Travis: I know I did!!
Philip: I wanted her to lose, but she didn't
Jason: ok
Chico: Sitesa won that one.
Travis: 9) Of the six games on the slate that day (Spelling Bee, Pushover,
Switch? Check-Out, One Away, Range Game), was there a game you would have
preferred playing?
Philip: ummm. If I didn't play Spelling Bee. I'm sure I would have won Check-Out
Chico: Alrighty. 10) You were off on your one-bid by $6... Did you do any
preliminary studying or brushing up, or was this just something in the recesses
of your many years of watching TPIR?
Jason: ok
Philip: It was just something that jumped in my mind. Plus, I remembered Rich
telling the hopeful contestants not to look into the audience because that can
get very annoying
Chico: Like boom, $800.
Philip: Exactly.
Chico: Ah, cool. If it jumped a little bit more, you would've been $500
richer, I'll tell ya.
Philip: I'm telling you. That would have been my gas money, lol
Chico: Nowadays, I wouldn't be surprised.
Gordon: Travis sold his car, when he got it. As a ticket seller, you probably
don't make a ton of money. 11) Do you keep your wheels, which you desperately
need, or do you sell it off and get the money - which you also probably
desperately need?
Philip: I might as well keep the car. I would like to sell it off though
Jason: 12) What was your line experience like? We love to be a little nutty out
there? How was it?
Philip: It was the best experience I ever had. I enjoyed every minute of it. I
went to two other shows that aired on the 13th and 14th
Jason: Did they recognize you?
Philip: My brother saw me and my mother...oh, and Sean Davidson too
Jason: I meant at the other two shows.
Philip: Yeah, those shows, the 13th and 14th
Travis: Did the TPIR Staff recognize you at the other two tapings?
Philip: Ah, Rich kinda did. Jeff, most definitely
Chico: Rich kinda recognizes everyone. Weird...
Jason: ok
Rob: 13) After your episode aired, did the people at work ask you about your
experience on the show?
Philip: Yeah, a bunch of people. It was ridiculous
Travis: 14) Simple three-part question: A) What time did you get in line? 2)
What number were you in line? D) Are they still stopping everyone at the gate at
6 AM with the Order of Arrival Passes?
Philip: Around 4 or 5 a.m. 88, the year Spelling Bee premiered. No, not always
Chico: Okay, me next... 15) If you could do it again, would you?
Philip: I wish I could but one time, and that's it. I can still play PIR LIVE
Chico: There you go. and you're in the right town for it, too,.
Philip: I sure am:-)
Chico: Okay, time for Chico's Questions We Ask Everyone. 16) Favorite Game
Show, past or present.
Philip: Tough question. I like them all. I guess my favorite is The Price is
Right
Chico: Of course. 17) Favorite emcee, past or present.
Philip: hmmm. another tough question. Bob Barker, I suppose
Chico: Again, no brainer. 18) You're the EP. Bring one show from the past back
for the audiences and tell us why.
Philip: Definitely Card Sharks. The game was fun.
Chico: Good choice. 19) What game show would you like to challenge next after
your year is up?
Philip: Probably either Wheel of Fortune or Deal or No Deal. I'd like to do
Family Feud too
Chico: Sounds like you've got quite a year to wait. Finally, 20) It's Philip
Time. Anything you want to get off your chest that we haven't covered, now's
time to do it.
Philip: It felt great hugging Brandi. I should have done it a third time, lol
Travis: I'll keep that in mind.
Philip: :-D
Gordon: And Philip has survived 20 Questions. Travis has one more...
Travis: Season 35 prediction: Which is more likely? A new pricing game, a new
record (over $97,130), or a prime-time special from Vegas?
Philip: Probably a Vegas primetime special
Rob: New Pricing game.
Gordon: New Pricing game
Chico: New pricing game.
Philip: That too.
Jason: New Pricing Game.
Gordon: ok - thanks again, Philip
Philip: You're welcome
Chico: Drop by again sometime. Before we continue, I have a breaking Brainvision
Bonus.
Travis: *Boop*
Jason: (plays Breaking News music)
Chico: Concerning AGT judge David Hasselhoff...Former "Baywatch" star David
Hasselhoff had surgery after severing a tendon in his right arm in an accident
in a London gym bathroom, his spokeswoman said Friday.
Rob: Ouch.
Chico:
http://www.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/TV/06/30/people.hasselhoff.ap/index.html Of
course, our best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Rob: I hope he gets well soon.
Gordon: I'm hoping it wasn't with Leonid's sword.
Rob: If it was with Leonid's sword, after the severing he would give a whiny
speech on how he did it.
Chico: Okay, before I'm officially freaked out... Philip survived 20 Questions,
but can he survive Five Good Reasons?
Gordon: We'll find out... after the break.
