Episode 4
August 12

Tonight on the show, two forms of puzzle, including one that will solve the age-old question of how can you pack an entire marching band into a small cramped van.

But first, tonight's panel...

- Actor/comedian Tom Green (tomgreen.com), playing for Brittany Foundation
- San Diego Charger Shawne "Lights Out" Merriman, playing for Alpha Project
- Actress/model Ali Landry, playing for Angel Network
- "According to Jim's" Larry Joe Campbell, playing for Boys and Girls Club

Let's front our players $25,000.

Now let's meet our first challengers... a marching band. They are the LOCKE SAINTS MARCHING BAND. They're the greatest, but their leader Derrick claims that they can stuff into a band, all 28 players and two color guards, and play "When the Saints Go Marching In" in under 90 seconds.

CHALLENGE Fit 30 members in van, close all doors, and play for 10 seconds
    WAGER PREDICTION
Tom $25,000 $10,000
Shawne $25,000 $2000
Ali $25,000 $5000
Larry $25,000 $5000

Tom's a big spender. As for the band... 90 ticks on the tock... and the bet... IS ON! They're all in at :45... and they're all playing... But the back door is still open. Thanks to our intrepid hosts, that's remedied... but with nine seconds left, so mathematically, they couldn't play for the allotted time, so it's a FAIL.

And Tom wants to contest the result. So does the crowd. But we do have video of the fail.

FAILURE Fit 30 members in van, close all doors, and play for 10 seconds
    WAGER PREDICTION
Tom $25,000 $10,000 SUCCEED $15,000
Shawne $25,000 $2000 SUCCEED $23,000
Ali $25,000 $5000 SUCCEED $20,000
Larry $25,000 $5000 SUCCEED $20,000

So Shawne goes to the early lead, but everyone's in the red.

Next up, a sheet... associated with it, 19-year-old college student CHRIS KREUGER. He's a master at the Rubik's Cube. Chris thinks he can solve it blindfolded.... and underwater holding his breath.

That's, by the way, under the sheet, a tank of water. The time limit... Chris' own lungs.

CHALLENGE Solve Rubik's Cube blindfolded, underwater
    WAGER PREDICTION
Tom $15,000 $15,000
Shawne $23,000 $8000
Ali $20,000 $5000
Larry $20,000 $5000

After a little mix by the hosts and the panel... The bet... IS ON! Chris takes a study of the cube... and heads underwater with his blindfold on. Fingers are working quickly... but he fails to put the right colors together, so that is a FAIL. He forgot the last step.

FAILURE Solve Rubik's Cube blindfolded, underwater
    WAGER PREDICTION
Tom $15,000 $15,000 SUCCEED OUT
Shawne $23,000 $8000 SUCCEED $15,000
Ali $20,000 $5000 FAIL $25,000
Larry $20,000 $5000 SUCCEED $15,000

And Tom goes over to give Chris a piece of his mind. Meanwhile, Ali takes over the lead by herself. Larry and Shawne are tied.

Next up, a lot of vacuums, all belonging to 12-year-old KYLE KRICHBAUM. Vacuum collecting not a popular hobby anywhere, but he says he can identify five vacuums by the sound alone.

CHALLENGE Identify 5 out of 5 vacuums by sound only
    WAGER PREDICTION
Tom OUT
Shawne $15,000 $10,000
Ali $25,000 $5000

Big bets. Okay, Kyle is in place and the bet... IS ON! First up, #7... a Hoover Constellation... Kyle gets it. #16... a Shop-Vac. Kyle gets it. Then comes #12... the Hoover Elite. "I think it is the Hoover Elite." Got it. #21 is a Shark Mini Upright. "I'd know that one anywhere, that's the Shark Mini Upright." Perfect so far. Last one is #43... Simplicity Freedom. "That's one of my very favorite vacuums, the Simplicity Freedom." PERFECT!

SUCCESS Identify 5 out of 5 vacuums by sound only

Ali $25,000 $5000 SUCCEED $30,000
Larry $15,000 $10,000 SUCCEED $25,000

Ali still holds the lead, but only by yeah much.

Next up, two men vs. a chainsaw. Our challengers, pro lumberjacks LEE LECAPTAIN and DENNIS BUTLER. Their claim: they can cut through three 13-inch pine logs faster than a chainsaw. The man they'll try to beat Alex Choi, who can get a slab in 15 seconds.

CHALLENGE Saw through 3 logs faster than chainsaw
    WAGER PREDICTION
Tom OUT
Shawne $25,000 $15,000
Ali $30,000 $7000
Larry $25,000 $15,000

Larry $25,000 $15,000 SUCCEED $40,000

Shawne and Larry are tied on $40,000.

And now, the moment you've been waiting for... heavy machinery, mortal danger, and a scantily clad woman. Let's meet TORY LEWIS from South Dakota. He thinks he's very precise. In fact, he thinks he can remove the hat, coat, and handbag of the lovely Lauren Martin and hang them all on a coatrack by using his crane under 2 minutes.

Engines started... and with two minutes on the clock... the bet... IS ON!

The purse is on at 1:26. The coat... on at :36. Just the hat remains... He's got 15 to get it on the rack....And he's done it!

Now let's see how the panel did...
