Episode 1
July 21

Germany... Known for a lot of things... Efficient automobiles... Oktoberfest... tasty beer... and an unhealthy obsession with David Hasselhoff. It's also known for this show, which gets its first play in the US since a failed one-off on CBS some time ago.

Tonight's players...
Actor and comedian Harland Williams
"The View's" Sherri Shepherd
"Star Trek" legend George Takei
From tomgreen.com... Tom Green

They'll be predicting how ordinary people will fare on extraordinary tasks.

Each of our panelists will start with $25,000 to bet any way you want. The celeb who ends up with the most money will win that money for charity.

First challenge... Paul "Dizzy Hips" Blair from San Francisco, an anthropologist-turned-hula-hoopster. Tonight, he'll hula-hoop... a tractor tire. We happen to have one right here. Now the challenge tonight is to hula hoop that tire, 50 pounds, for 45 seconds.

CHALLENGE Hula hoop a 50 pound tire for 45 seconds
    PREDICTION WAGER
Harland $25,000 SUCCEED
Sherri $25,000 FAIL
George $25,000 FAIL
Tom $25,000 FAIL

He has 2 minutes total. First attempt... 22 seconds. Second... Will we GET to a second? Paul's busy hyping up the audience and wallowing in his own hubris. He goes for it now with :46 left... And he doesn't do it.

FAILURE Hula hoop a 50 pound tire for 45 seconds
    PREDICTION WAGER
Harland $25,000 SUCCEED $12,000 $13,000
Sherri $25,000 FAIL $3500 $28,500
George $25,000 FAIL $50 $25,050
Tom $25,000 FAIL $2500 $27,500

Sherri's in the lead right now, but it's time to meet our next challengers, fans of NASCAR the Pit Girls! Durina, Tristan, Karine, Consuela, Paula, LaShawn, and Aisha all share an interest in cars, and they're going to complete a complete pit stop (tires, gas, the lot) faster than a professional pit crew from Thunder Road, all the way in Charlotte, NC. On average, it takes them 12 to 13 seconds to complete a pit stop. They're going to complete it in half THEIR time with half THEIR crew.

CHALLENGE Complete pit stop faster than half a professional crew... in double the crew's time.
    PREDICTION WAGER
Harland $13,000 FAIL
Sherri $28,500 SUCCEED
George $25,050 SUCCEED
Tom $27,500 SUCCEED

Harland once again the sole voice of dissent. Time penalties will be incurred for any violations. The men are first... with three men, they set a time of 39 seconds, which means the women will have 1:18 to complete the pit stop. They do it in... 1:10! Success!

SUCCESS Complete pit stop faster than half a professional crew... in double the crew's time.
    PREDICTION WAGER
Harland $13,000 FAIL $9000 $4000
Sherri $28,500 SUCCEED $7000 $35,500
George $25,050 SUCCEED $2000 $27,050
Tom $27,500 SUCCEED $5000 $32,500

Sherri still leads it. Tom's still in second. Next up, from Germany, a man whose CD collection is literally on the tip of his tongue, Harald Stempfler, a teacher. He has an incredible taste in music. In fact, he's going to try and identify four of his five CDs by licking them.

You read right.

CHALLENGE Identify 4 out of 5 CDs just by licking them
    PREDICTION WAGER
Harland $4000 FAIL
Sherri $35,500 FAIL
George $27,050 SUCCEED
Tom $32,500 SUCCEED

The CDs, for our edification are...

Iron Maiden, "Wildest Dreams" (Correct)
Timbaland, "Timbaland Presents Shock Value" (Wrong)
The Game, "Doctor's Advocate" (Correct)
Pink, "I'm Not Dead" (Correct)
Foo Fighters, "In Your Honor" (Game!)

So Timbaland... tastes like the Killers... And that tastes like success.

SUCCESS Identify 4 out of 5 CDs just by licking them
    PREDICTION WAGER
Harland $4000 FAIL $399 $3601
Sherri $35,500 FAIL $5000 $30,500
George $27,050 SUCCEED $26,050 $53,100
Tom $32,500 SUCCEED $10,000 $42,500

So George has taken the lead, followed by Tom and Sherri. And Harland... is just here for the chicken.

One more challenge for the night, and it's time to do some moving. Four people will try and stuff all of these couches into that truck. They're the Moving Men, Teddy, Shlomi, Buddy, and Brett. They say their strength is all in the mind, but can they move all of those couches in two and a half minutes?

We'll reveal the predictions and the results after the challenge which begins... now.

With less than a minute left, cushions are everywhere, and fatigue's starting to set. All of the couches are in at 30 seconds, but they need to get those cushions on the truck as well. Done with seven seconds to spare!

SUCCESS Pack collection of couches into truck in 2:30
    PREDICTION WAGER
Harland $3601 SUCCEED $3006 $6607
Sherri $30,500 SUCCEED $30,000 $60,500
George $53,100 SUCCEED $53,050 $106,150
Tom $42,500 SUCCEED $35,000 $77,500

... which makes George Takei tonight's winner! His money is going to the Japanese American National Museum.

Next week, four more celebs watching four more people do things that you won't believe.
