Battle Round Part 1
May 10

Last week, we filled out our roster of 32. Now they will head into battle, as the teams are cut into half. Who will see their dreams shattered, and who will move one step closer to being crowned... THE VOICE?

To recap, the teams are...

ADAM: Jeff Jenkins, Rebecca Loebe, Javier Colon, Devon Barley, Tim Mahoney, Casey Desmond, Casey Weston, Angela Wolff
CEE-LO: Vicci Martinez, Kelsey Rey, Tje Austin, Emily Valentine, Niki Dawson, Nakia, Curtis Grimes, Tori & Taylor Thompson
CHRISTINA: Tarralyn Ramsey, Frenchie Davis, Beverly McClellan, Cherie Oakley, Raquel Castro, Julia Eason, Justin Grennan, Lily Elise
BLAKE: Elenowen, Xenia, Patrick Thomas, Sara Oromchi, Tyler Robinson, Serabee, Dia Frampton, Jared Blake

Now we move to the BATTLE ROUNDS. On each team, the eight singers are to be grouped into pairs who will sing the same song on the same stage. At the end of the round, only the four who win their battles may move forward to the live shows.

To assist the coaches in... well, coaching, they've brought on an adviser. Adam has brought on Maroon 5's musical advisor Adam Blackstone. Cee-Lo will be assisted by platinum recording artist Monica. Christina will rely on her friend, Australian phenom Sia, and Blake has asked for the assistance of only the one and only Reba McEntire.

The first battle pairing...

TEAM CHRISTINA
TARRALYN RAMSEY VS. FRENCHIE DAVIS

The song: "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" by Beyonce.

Cee-Lo thought that the duet was awesome. Adam was having fun. Blake thought he was watching Rocky. But it's up to Christina who determines who delivered the knockout blow. MOVING ON.... FRENCHIE!

TEAM BLAKE
PATRICK THOMAS VS. TYLER ROBINSON

The song: "Burning Love" by Elvis Presley.

Just so I can say this about Tyler... Bowties are cool. Christina thought that both singers stepped up to the plate. Cee-Lo thought that Tyler outsang Patrick. Adam agrees with Cee-Lo. But will Blake agree with his fellow coaches? He says that Patrick has been spot-on every time. But MOVING ON... PATRICK!

TEAM ADAM
CASEY WESTON VS. TIM MAHONEY

The song: "Leather & Lace" by Don Henley & Stevie Nicks.

Blake calls Casey's voice "addicting", saying that she can develop in the competition. Christina thought that they blended very well. Cee-Lo is partial to Tim, saying that Casey sounds like a younger Stevie Nicks. But does it sound like a winner? MOVING ON... CASEY W!

And finally...

TEAM CEE-LO
VICCI MARTINEZ VS. NIKI DAWSON

The song: "F***in' Perfect" by Pink.

Adam calls it the best duet of the night. Blake thinks that Cee-Lo will come to regret pairing these two against each other, because he knows that he has to cut one. Christina was quick to pick up on the "pretty pretty please" lyric that was a little bit... emotive. But who is perfect enough for Cee-Lo Green? MOVING ON... VICCI!

So a quarter of the live-show equation is determined, but we still have 12 more battles before the live shows. The search for the Voice continues... next week.
