Round of 20 (or "How to Make the Grade... Just by Cheating")
June 15

We've made it. The 1st night of dancing and it's about to come off. All 20 dancers will now dance your your phone or cell....or both if you got texting. Anyways, we got Mary, Nigel and everything else in a 2-hour show. Let's get to it.

First order of business: Mitchell Kelly has popped a shoulder during practice, so it'll be the first...and possibly last injury for the finals. So replacing him is Robert Roldan, a Vegas week casualty. Mitchell will obviously be in the bottom 4 tomorrow. Second, Megan Mulally from "Will & Grace" and a talk show nobody has seen a long time ago will be the guest judge. And finally, you can now vote online for your favorite dancer. Way cool, huh? So with that, we begin.

First off, we witness Jordan and Tadd doing a Sean Cheeseman African Jazz routine to "Riding The Waves" by Afro Celt Sound System. With those moves, it may not look like a wrestling match, but it's a dance routine.

What Nigel said: That volcano erupted all over the stage.
What I said: It went off like the 4th of July!

Next up, Iveta & Nick do a ballroom routine to "Ballroom Blitz" by Sweet. Both sat down and did foot touches with circles. Next thing you know, it's a quickstep routine.

What Mary said: Nick, you're a tap dancer!
What I said: The beginning was something I liked until the whole quickstep routine became better.

We have Miranda & Robert doing a Jason Gilikson Latin routine to "Runaway Baby" by Bruno Mars. Between arm work by both, Miranda did a back & forth slide-through. Talk about blink and you miss stuff.

What Mary said: Robert, you stole the show.
What I said; It was mesmerizing!!!

Next up, Melanie & Marko doing a Travis Wall contemporary routine to "Turn To Stone" by Ingrid Michaelson. They're just statutes, but in seconds, they brought the whole dance to life.

What Nigel said: This could be the first Emmy-nominated routine.
What I said: I agree with him.

Ryan & Ricky do a lyrical hip-hop routine to "Ain't No Sunshine" by lighthouse Family. One highlight you might find is Ryan leaving for a few seconds and Ricky getting mad. Ouch.

What Megan said: I was feeling the story. It was kinda beautiful.
What I said: I think it connected in a sorta, kinda way.

Back to contemporary and this time, Sasha and Alexander will dance to "Stupid" by Sarah McLachan. It wasn't stupid for both, it was smart thinking with this routine.

What Nigel said: Sasha is this modern-day Amazonian princess.
What I said: Sasha is working it.

Onward we go to Caitlynn and Robert doing a Sonya Tayeh jazz routine to "In For The Kill" by La Roux. When Robert held on Caitlynn in most points, it was all that handled along with more moves.

What Nigel said: That was 10 across the board!
What I said: Wrong show, nigel.

More jazz comes in from Missy & Wadi as they dance to "Judas" by Lady Gaga. 2 are in a box...and get themselves out. Wadi went through Missy and did parkour on the double boxes. Way to go!

What Megan said: That is insaaaaaaane.
What I said: Excellente!

Clarice & jess have a Tasy Oreo, sorry, Tyce Diorio Broadway routine to "Me and My baby" by Liza Minelli. Jess did some breakdancing and even more madcap dancing by both.

What Nigel said: Clarice will need hard work to keep up with Jess.
What I said: I think the chemistry was on point.

Lastly, Ashley & Chris doing hip-hop to "Forget You" by Cee-Lo. They didn't forget about this routine. It was pretty wild throughout.

What Mary said: Ashley had all kinds of vibes there.
What I said: Variety was in both of them.

It's time for us to leave, but time for you to vote. Online, on the phone or on your cell, you'll find out who goes home first, in fact, you get 2 for the price of one. You'll see it tomorrow. Good night.
