Ride the
Workhorse Until the Tail Falls Off
October
11
Fei Long has finally taken
their first hit as Zhan Hu sent Leslie packing. Todd wanted to be the
only one with a clue in his tribe, but now that he has gotten his wish,
can he take advantage?
The Courtney and Jean-Robert saga continues. They are worse than a
bitter married couple and they genuinely don’t like each other.
Jean-Robert likes having Courtney around as he thinks her weakness will
provide him safety for at least one more vote. Meanwhile Courtney is mad
that he is still here and seems to be looking for a way to help him make
a quick exit.
Zhan Hu has a big problem of their own. Their rice has molded and now
they are separating the good from the bad. Dave and Sherea have a spat
over the means to separate the rice, but nothing comes of it.
However, in Sherea’s head she feels Dave is digging himself a deeper
grave. Frosti recognizes the same issue and thinks Dave may have worn
out his welcome.
Treemail!
Food is on the line and Fei Long reads that both tribes will be headed
to Tribal, but somehow thinks there will not be a double vote out.
Geniuses.
At Tribal Council, Jeff reveals the challenge. The teams will have to
transfer fireballs with chopsticks in order to ignite a fireworks
display, the first team to light 3 fireworks with ever-lengthening
chopsticks will win a dinner cooked by a local fisherman back at camp.
On the first fireball, both teams are rather close, but Fei Long has the
lead. Moving to the second fireball, the lead holds.
On the final fireball, Fei Long stretches their lead but can not lift
the ball high enough to get it in the chute to ignite the fireworks. As
a result, Zhan Hu has a chance to catch up, but they aren’t doing much
better themselves.
Eventually Jean-Robert and James get their act together and pull off the
win for Fei Long. With their victory they will receive food, but will
also have to kidnap someone. They choose Dave and head back to camp.
Dave acts significantly more loopy than usual at the opposing camp and
is thrilled to get to use the immunity idol clue as a way of forging and
alliance. He wants to pick someone that he feels he can trust and he
chooses… Todd?
Now Todd has 3 clues and Dave is expecting a clue back from Todd on the
flipside.
Back at Zhan Hu, Sherea is thrilled to get a break from Dave. Erik on
the other hand is missing their workhorse and is getting tired of
picking up the slack that Dave left behind. Sherea refuses to work until
she has to. Shame, really.
Fei Long meanwhile is greeting visitors and those visitors know how to
fish. Jean-Robert surprises everyone by being able to converse with the
fishing family in Mandarin. But the craziest thing is the fishing. They
fish by tying birds’ necks so they can’t swallow and letting the birds
catch the fish for them. The mild regurgitation from the birds yielded a
great feast and Fei Long is feeling energized.
Immunity is up for grabs.
The tribes will face off in pairs of 2, women, men then mixed, and face
off in Chinese armor. The will throw roped maced balls at pottery placed
upon pedestals behind the opposing team. Each team will get 3 throws per
round and the team that breaks the most ceramics wins.
Round 1:
Peih-Gee and Sherea face off against Denise and Courtney. Overall the
women seem to have a hard time getting used to the swing of things and
the only point is scored by Sherea, putting Zhan Hu ahead 1-0
Round 2:
Todd and James vs. Frosti and Dave. Throws are a lot stronger this time
around and Todd and James both hit on their first shots. James doubles
up and at the end of the round, Fei Long is up 3-1
Round 3:
Amanda and Aaron vs. Jamie and Erik.
Jamie gets in there and is serious knocking out two pots on her first
throw. The game is tied until Aaron on Fei Long’s last throw connects
and puts Fei Long up 4-3. With one throw remaining, Zhan Hu need 2 to
win and falls short.
Fei Long wins immunity and Zhan Hu will be headed to tribal.
Zhan Hu seems to be torn on a single decision. Would they rather get rid
of Dave for being annoying or Sherea for doing no work around camp? The
votes will tell.
All the talk at tribal centers around the same previously stated issue.
Sherea seems to be very defensive while Dave seems to be very accepting
of whatever fate may be coming his way. Jeff will now tally the votes.
With 5 votes, Dave, the Tribe has spoken.
So everyone went for peace and harmony over hard work. That’s something
to know about the dynamic of Zhan Hu going forward.
And next week promises to turn the game on its head. What will happen?
You know the drill. Return for more Survivor: China, next week. |
