Semifinals: Jacob/Bushee/Winchell
November 17
Last week, fifteen of the best Jeopardy! players over the last year gave it their best shot one more time. Now only nine remain - the five winners plus the four wild-cards - and it's win or go home. At stake, a place in Thursday & Friday's two-part final.

The winner will receive $250,000 and join the ranks of previous ToC winners in quiz immortality.

First runner-up will win an additional $100,000, while second runner-up will pocket $50,000. All semifinalists - the five preliminary match winners and four wild-card qualifiers who scored the highest amongst non-winners - will get $10,000.

Kerry Greene won her game last night. Now it's up to these three...

Final Jeopardy! category: AFRICAN COUNTRIES

THESE 2 6-LETTER RHYMING COUNTRIES BOTH DERIVE THEIR NAMES FROM RIVERS & WERE BOTH ONCE CONTROLLED BY GREAT BRITAIN

Correct response: what are Zambia and the Gambia?

Vaughn's response: what are Rwanda and Uganda? WRONG. Wager doesn't matter.
Brennan's response: what are Uganda & Rwanda? WRONG. Wager doesn't matter.
Alex's response: what is ALEVE? WRONG. Wager doesn't matter.

FINALIST: Alex Jacob

When in doubt, make an inside joke. Alex didn't have to do anything. He didn't. And he'll be back on Thursday.

Tomorrow, it's Matt, Catherine, and Andrew for slot #3.
