Their occupations range from
stay-at-home parents to ace attorneys.
They span both coasts of two countries.
They are young and young-at-heart alike.
And they have one thing in common: over the last
calendar year, they've shown America that they all know
how to play "Jeopardy!" very, very well and have earned
a ticket to the most prestigious of all game show
tournaments.
On November 9 through November 20, though, the 15
players - nine men, four women - will compete against
each other to see who will be the best of the best in
this year's Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions. The
winner will receive $250,000 and join the ranks of
previous ToC winners in quiz immortality.
First runner-up will win an additional $100,000, while
second runner-up will pocket $50,000. All semifinalists
- the five preliminary match winners and four wild-card
qualifiers who scored the highest amongst non-winners -
will get $10,000, while everyone is guaranteed $5000 for
their participation.
As always, any money won
depends on how high up the ladder a player goes.
Catherine Hardee and
Brennan Bushee are stamped for next week. Tonight,
what's seen as this week's marquee matchup.

to $8400 for John & $1200 for Jennifer. Matt decides
to play for $5100 on this: his 14th century
collection "Canzoniere" established & perfected the
Italian sonnet form. That smirk, tho... "Who is
Petrarch?" RIGHT for $15,300!
Daily Double #2: $800 Dinosaurs.
John's going to try and cut into Matt's lead, $14,400 to $23,700. Jennifer has
$10,000. He bets $3000 on this: in 2015 scientists concluded that this old name
was valid after all; the Apatosaurus was another beast. "What is Brontosaurus?"
RIGHT for $17,400.
