We started with 15... Now we're down to nine, and for each one, it's important to play each match as if it were their last... because for six of them, it will be, as we race to the end of the week final for $75,000 and the right to be called this season's Teen Champion. Second place gets $25,000. Third gets $15,000. Semifinalists who make it to week 2 will receive $10,000. All of this week's players will receive $5000. All money will be determined, as always, by how far the players go in the tournament.

This is a standard two-week affair, with the five game winners from last week joining the four highest-scoring non-winners in a win-or-go-home race to the two-day final.

The winner of this match gets Audrey Hosford and Bradley Silverman. The losers... get gone.

Daily Double: $800 Let's Have Order. Sarah has $2600 to Karan's $2800 and Anurag's $800. She bets $600 on this: Presidential adminstrations: Chester A. Arthur, James K. Polk, Millard Fillmore. "Who are Polk, Fillmore, Arthur?" Correct for $3200 at the break.

At the end of the Jeopardy! round...

Daily Double #1: $1200 T-R-L. Sarah has a commanding lead, $10,200 to Anurag's $7200 and Karan's $4800. She bets $2200 on this: it's the lateral lobe of each cerebral hemisphere, in front of the occipital lobe. "No idea." Temporal, but she still leads with $800.

Daily Double #2: $800 the Hills. She's back at $10,800, of which she bets $1200 on this: Col. William Prescott was one of the leaders of this battle on June 17, 1775. "What is the Battle of Bunker Hill?" Correct for $12,000!

After the Double Jeopardy! round, we've got a tie ball game...

Some math courtesy of J-Archive.com, assuming individual correct responses, gives us a "tortoise-hare" comparison.

- The tortoise in this game: Anurag... He only needs to bet $1201.
- The hares are Karan and Sarah. They're left with only one option... bet it all and force a tiebreaker.

Anurag's response: who is Anne Frank? RIGHT. Wager: $11,600. Total: $23,200.
Sarah's response: who is Anne Frank? RIGHT. Wager: $9500. Total: $22,300.

Way to pull defeat from the jaws of victory, you two. Just as the two leaders thought they had the game in the bag, out comes a surprise for both of them as Anurag slow-plays to come from behind. But judging from all three matches, the finale should be a good one.
