Semifinals: Desai/Cooper/Wadman
February 28

For the last five days, the best and brightest teenagers from all around the country gathered at Sony to square off and pitch bout in the tradition of their gladiatorial forbearers to determine who would play for a prize pool of over a quarter-million, the winner getting $75,000. Where 15 once stood, now only nine remain.

Winner of the tournament receives $75,000 and the right to be called this season's Teen Champion. Second place gets $25,000. Third gets $15,000. All semifinalists are guaranteed $10,000. All money will be determined, as always, by how far the players go in the tournament.

We're in week two of our two-week affair, meaning that it's win-or-go-home as the semifinalists fight for one of only THREE seats in the $75,000 final.

Losers of this match get $10,000. Winner gets Kailyn LaPorte and Raya Elias-Pushett.

Daily Double #1: $1200 Like a "G"6. Kate has $10,400 and is within range of Raynell's lead. He has $16,300. She fronts $4500 on this: the Greek for "milk" gives us this word for a large feature of the skies. "What is a galaxy?" Correct for $14,900!

Daily Double #2: $2000 Young Nobel Prize winners. Kate still has $14,900, but Raynell has $17,900. Raynell bids $3000 on this: Konstantin Novoselov, 36, shared the 2010 physics prize for his work on graphene, a form of this element. "What is carbon?" Correct for $20,900!

At the end of Double Jeopardy!, it is a very interesting match...

Nikhil Raynell Kate

It's a three-quarters match:

- Nikhil wins if he bets $600 on a triple stumper, with Raynell and Kate betting against each other.
- Kate wins if she bets $4801 and is correct, but Raynell is wrong.
- Raynell wins if he bets $11,301 and is correct.

Final Jeopardy! category: BRANDS

JACK ODELL GAVE HIS CHILD A TINY VEHICLE TO BRING TO SCHOOL INSIDE ONE OF THESE ITEMS, & A TOY BRAND NAME WAS BORN

Correct response: what is Matchbox?

Nikhil's response: what is a box? HALF RIGHT. Wager: $599. Total: $9601.
Kate's response: what is a matchbox? RIGHT. Wager: $6550. Total: $22,650.
Raynell's response: what is Matchbox? RIGHT. Wager: $11,305. Total: $32,205.

FINALIST: Raynell Cooper

Again, another player comes out and storms the battlefield. Raynell kept a steady pace, controlled his flow, and bet precisely the amount he needed to. Kate almost had him in her sights, but the fact of the matter is that you play the game to win....

But the question now, can he hold his own against THESE two?

Raya Elias-Pushett - Game 6 Winner

Kailyn LaPorte - Game 7 Winner

Raynell Cooper - Game 8 Winners

It comes down to this... three strong players. Two games. One title. Should make for an entertaining final.
