Week 2: What's the Difference Between Carmen Electra & Dennis Rodman?
September
29

Ted McGinley may be the patron saint of "Jumping the shark," but on DWTS, his dancing left him dead in the water. But like Mobsters, our 11 couples don't sleep, because our assignment tonight is: Dance the paso doble or the rumba. Soon as they fire shots to create points, only 1 couple in 23 hours will get "whacked." Time to come out like Gangbusters, because "Dancing With The Stars" is ON THE AIR...LIVE!

It starts with word, er, Toni & Alec doing a rumba to "I Can't Make You Love Me" by Bonnie Raitt. Toni did a slow split and even a foot drag. We drag over to the judges. Carrie Ann said she moves like she sings, Len said he's surprised about the performance and Bruno said it captured the vulnerability of a mistress. Capture the scoreboard if you will....

CARRIE: 7
LEN: 8
BRUNO: 8
Total Score: 23
That'll be a good way to start.

Up next, Brooke & Derek doing a paso doble. Derek did some arm work and a melt move by Brooke before she did a fast split and even cape twirling by Derek. Now we twirl around with the judges. Carrie Ann said it was truly mesmerized, Len said it portrayed the aggression and Bruno said it had breathtaking artistry. Paint the numbers.....

CARRIE: 8
LEN: 8
BRUNO: 8
Total Score: 24
They now lead by a point.

We're ready for Rocco & Karina doing a rumba to "You'll never find another love like mine" by Lou Rawls. Rocco serves a plate of glitter and Karina takes the long coat off. By the end, they sit to eat glitter. EWWW! To the judges. Carrie Ann said the musicality was lacking, Len said it had more tears than cheers and Bruno said the stallion ran out of juice. Let's refuel for the scoreboard...

CARRIE: 5
LEN: 6
BRUNO: 5
Total Score: 16
There will be tears...in the basement.

Lance & Lacey are ready to paso doble to "I Kissed A Girl" by Katy Perry. Lance entranced to the band area and Lacey raced for him. Lacey did a slide-through and back before both did arm work and kissed. Talk about not having a bad taste. To the judges again. Carrie Ann said she loved how it went, Len said it did stuff not related to the dance and Bruno said it was thrilling to watch. You must be 42" tall to ride the leaderboard:

CARRIE: 7
LEN: 6
BRUNO: 7
Total Score: 20
And they kiss & make-up for 3rd place.

Now, Kim & Mark doing a rumba. Both did arm work and brought sexiness in her. We go to the judges. Carrie Ann said it needs to watch it playback, Len said it came out a little bit cold and Bruno called her a Pussycat not doll. Fast forward to the scoreboard...

CARRIE: 6
LEN: 6
BRUNO: 5
Total Score: 17
And they stay out of last to 4th place.

Ready to dance are Misty & Maksim doing a paso doble to "Take Me Out" by Franz Ferdinand. Maks did a high kick and both did a circle kick and Misty tumbled over Maks. Now to the judges. Carrie Ann said it had determination on the floor, Len said it came out with attack and Bruno called her a princess. Fire that scoreboard!

CARRIE: 7
LEN: 7
BRUNO: 7
Total Score: 21
They take a good 3rd place score.

We're almost in the home stretch of our show and Maurice and Cheryl do a rumba to "Mercy, Mercy Me" by Marvin Gaye. Maurice points to Cheryl and she does a slow split before she does a leg hook & spin move. And the judges say: Carrie Ann said it was a little too stiff, Len said it lacked finesse and Bruno said it was almost robotic. Let's have some numbers from our scoreboard robot:

CARRIE: 7
LEN: 6
BRUNO: 6
Total Score: 19
And they steal Kim & Mark's position.

Let's have some fun with Cloris & Corky doing a paso doble. Corky played with Cloris' cape and dragged her. Even a frog splash pin move ended it. To the judges. Carrie Ann said it was brilliant, Len said it was a lovely traditional dance and Bruno called her Ava Gardner. Have the scores and have not:

CARRIE: 5
LEN: 5
BRUNO: 5
Total Score: 15
And they now own the basement.

And it's Susan & Tony's turn to rumba to "Waiting On The World To Change" by John Mayer. Susan shows Tony's chest and brought even more sexiness throughout the dance. Let's skip over to the judges. Carrie Ann said it was really nice....mm-hmm, Len said it acted it and Bruno said it was a very good rumba. Let's show a very good score, plase?

CARRIE: 7
LEN: 7
BRUNO: 7
Total Score: 21
Well, kinda good, but they tie for 3rd place.

On the floor are Warren & Kym doing a paso doble. Warren flew his foot over Kym and both did matrix moves. However, Warren pretends to get Kym, but blinds her. Both did arm work as well. now to the judges. Carrie Ann said it was filled with dynamics, Len said it had a dark menacing feel and Bruo knew it was gone matrix. We go to the scoreboard:

CARRIE: 8
LEN: 8
BRUNO: 8
Total Score: 24
And they tie for the lead.

And finally...Cody & Julianne doing a rumba to "Bleeding Love" by Leona Lewis. Julianne did a running 3/4 split, spins and a foot drag. One last time with the judges. Carrie Ann said it found it attractive, Len said it lacked a bit of polish and Bruno said it was like a kid in a candy store. Time to close up shop with this:

CARRIE: 7
LEN: 7
BRUNO: 7
Total Score: 21
It's a 3-way tie for 3rd.

And with that, we're out of ammo. Checking the final tally:

24 -- Brooke & Derek, Warren & Kym
23 -- Toni & Alec
21 -- Misty & Maks, Susan & Tony, Cody & Julianne
20 -- Lance & Lacey
19 -- Maurice & Cheryl
17 -- Kim & Mark
16 -- Rocco & Karina
15 -- Cloris & Corky

And that is all the gunfire blown away on performance night. We know how well you vote like a shooting gallery, because tomorrow, this place will be a duck hunt as one couple goes home. I'll fly away at you next time hoping the dog doesn't whimper.
