Week
7: Retro Reloaded
This time around, we're bringing back Classical
Week. Every couple dances to classical pieces selected for your enjoyment. Watch
now as the curtain comes up for a night of dancing and scoring.
We start with Katherine & Mark on the first routine. Mark seems to what would be holding either a shield or some garage can lid from outside the ballroom to use. Katherine even did a body ciercle and used her foot as balnce. For the first time in 2 shows I've written, let's go to the judges. Len said it was a classic rumba, Bruno said she's toying with her subjects and Carrie Ann said she's unmatched. Let's match up the numbers... CARRIE ANN: 9 LEN: 9 BRUNO: 9 ROund 1 Score: 27 Next is Melissa & Mak doig "Marriage of Figaro." Maks lifted Mel and she did a leg sweep there. After a few slap gestures by her, she ditched Maks for a mannequin husband. aww. Now to the judges. Carrie Ann said it was liek Cirque de Soeil gone wrong, Len said it pulled the dance off and Bruno said it was like riding the cyclone at Coney Island. Let's ride off into the scoreboard... CARRIE ANN: 7 LEN: 7 BRUNO: 7 Total Score: 21 We have William & CHeryl dancig to "Ave Maria" alog with David Foster's discovery, Jackie Evancho. Cheryl did a foot drag ad bot did arm work plus more. Now we go to the judges. Carrie Ann said it was true cotent, Len said it went up and Bruno said it captured the purity of the song. Capture this..... CARRIE ANN: 9 LEN: 9 BRUNO: 9 Round 1 Score: 27 Next is Roshon & Chelsie doing the instrumental version of "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga. CHelsie had leg work at the opening seconds and leg roping by both later on. Len liked the characteristics into the lifts, Bruno loved the hooks and Carrie Ann...hugged him. And we go to this..... CARRIE ANN: 9 LEN: 8 BRUNO: 8 Round 1 Score: 25 Next is DOnald & Peta doing a vienesse waltz. Vittolo Grigolo perfoms and it's a queen & king on thrones portrayed by themselves. Both did arm work amd Peta did a foot drag. She even did a floor sweep there. Let's clean up with the judges. Carrie An didn't see a lift, Len said it was terrific and Bruno said he's got the sweeping drive. We pull over with the numbers... CARRIE ANN: 9 LEN: 9 BRUNO: 9 Round 1 Score: 27 Marua & Derek will now paso doble. Derek did quick knee drags and Maria....bared her fangs playing teh devil. One big highlight was Maria doing a floor sweep. Fun for her. SHe even ended it with a vapire gesture. Let's sink our teeth into teh judges. Carrie Ann said it didn't suck, Len said it was sharp as a razor and Bruno said she's the queen f the night. Off to the scoreboard.... CARRIE ANN: 10 LEN: 10 BRUNO: 10 Round 1 Score: 24 To end the first half, Jaleel & Kym doing "Did I Make the most of loving you?" by Mary-Jess Leaverland. The fog floors are cued up and Kym did a foot drag. She even did a floor sweep as well. And the judges say....Len said there was no footwork, Bruno said it was't executed at all times and Carrie Ann said the storytelling was excellent. Let's end the first story with this... CARRIE ANN: 8 LEN: 8 BRUNO: 8 Round 1 Score: 24 Through round 1, Maria is perfect so far, but in round 2, we have a tea challeneg. Let's go to it. TEAM CHALLENGE The 2 teams will be represented by style. Team Paso doble consists of DOnald, Melissa & William which we'll get to after we see Team Tango go first. They consist of Maria, Katherine, Roshon & Jaleel. For the first team, here they are in suits for the guys and hats for the girls. Maria went up first and Katherine came in later after Jaleel. Katherine was the last to go ad by teh end, the guys did pushups. Drop and give the judges 27 meanig that Maria gets 57, Katherina gets 54, Roshon with 52 and Jaleel with 51. Now the other team. They all dragged the women and Melissa is out of the gate first. William came i next and Donald drove in dead last. Their score was 26 meaning that Donald and William both get 53 and Melissa getting 47. The curtain is going down now. We will see you tomorrow for another dance duel.
