Week 4: They Put the X in "Sexy"
April 12

The 10th season of everybody's favorite dance party continues with a night of tangos and rumbas. Buzz Aldrin may have been grounded by the lowest scores, but Kate Gosselin continues to get ridiculed by the judges and the scoreboard. Will there be a new leaf to turn for her or will her wintry ways trick her once again? Forget the past. We're predicting one's championship future in a present time, as week 4 of season X begins....now.

Let's start with Erin & Maks doing a tango to "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" by the Eurythmics. Erin went around the judges table and both had a bit of a kick to it. She also did a circle kick and by the end, she did side kicks at the judges table before Maks rushed into her. Now they both step away to face them. Carrie Ann said her performance suffered because of her focus, Len said there were too many steps on the toes and Bruno said they did a good job, but what's great is the dances will be scored on both technique and performance. Let's give it a whirl!

Technical Score: 18
Performance Score: 21
Overall Score: 39

Next is Evan & Anna doing a tango as well to "Wait a Minute" by the Pussycat Dolls. Maybe Nicole Scherzinger's not watching this. Anyways, Anna did foot drags while sitting and Evan held the other foot for a short time. Evan held Anna sitting down and there was more. Now to the judges. Carrie Ann said the technique was amazing, Len said it was a great job and Bruno said it was strong & powerful with a hint of arrogance. To the scoreboard!

Technical Score: 26
Performance Score: 26
Overall Score: 52

Niecy & Louis get the first rumba of the night to "Taking Chances" by Celine Dion. Louis meets her in between the entrance area and the band area. Louis also did a bit of arm roping with Niecy. Now let's rope in with the judges. Carrie Ann said it felt the emotional connection, Len said the opening showed musicality and Bruno said it needed more color. Let's paint by numbers.

Technical Score: 18
Performance Score: 18
Overall Score: 36

Here's Aiden & Edyta doing a rumba to "Live Like We're Dying" by Kris Allen. There were a few good moments including a split from Edyta. Now we split with the judges. Carrie Ann said the technique was done wrong, Len said there was no flow to dancing and Bruno said the movements were robotic. Now let's have our scoring robot spit numbers out.

Technical Score: 15
Performance Score: 18
Overall Score: 33

Nicole & Derek do a rumba to "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" by Roberta Flack. With that kind of dancing, it signaled the mirrorball to appear before our eyes. Nicole's dress and this routine were 2 things you had to see. Now let's go to the judges. Carrie Ann said her nerves showed, Len said the balance was there between the technique and the performance and Bruno said there were a few stumbles. Can they recover a fumble to first place?

Technical Score: 25
Performance Score: 25
Overall Score: 50

Back to the tango department as Jake & Chelsie dance to "A Girl Like You" by Edwyn Collins. Chelsie did a series of circle kicks and a foot drag, followed by a slow 3/4 split before canoodling at the judges table. Calm down, you 2! Now to the judges. Carrie Ann said his biggest problem is how he holds her, Len said he attacked the dance and Bruno said it was very messy. Let's clean up the scoreboard.

Technical Score: 19
Performance Score: 19
Overall Score: 38

Kate & Tony have been last 3 times, and this week, it won't happen. As they tango to "For Your Entertainment" by Adam Lambert, Kate did a pirouette and a kick claw. It looks like she's faltering a bit, but did the judges notice? Carrie Ann said she was proud of her determination, Len said it's her best dance so far and Bruno said she had a mini-breakthrough this evening. Can she break out into first?

Technical Score: 14
Performance Score: 18
Overall Score: 32

Next is Chad & Cheryl doing a rumba to "Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart" by Alicia Keys. Cheryl did some spins of her own and Chad backdragged her. By the end, they flirted around in feathers. Luckily, they didn't get tarred. On to the judges. Carrie Ann said this was his best dance, Len agreed and Bruno said his hips were alive. Let's wake up the scoreboard.

Technical Score: 21
Performance Score: 23
Overall Score: 44

Last up to bat, Pam & Damian doing a rumba to "I Can't Make You Love Me" by Bonnie Raitt. They start out link walking and by the end, Pam did a slow split. Now let's catch up quickly with the judges. Carrie Ann said Pam was sophisticated, Len said it was a great job and Bruno said she was refined. One last time, scoring machine...

Technical Score: 23
Performance Score: 24
Overall Score: 47

Now that it's all over. Here's the final tally: Top position goes to Evan & Anna with 52, 50 goes to Nicole & Derek, Pam & Damian get 47, right behind them is Chad & Cheryl with 44, Erin & Maks with 39, Jake & Chelsie with 38, Niecy & Louis with 36, Aiden & Edyta with 33 and once again, the rear goes to Kate & Tony with 32. All that could change in the results show. Find out who gets the shaft....for good. See you later.
