Week 3: What X-actly Is a Fork in the Road?
April 5

You are about to experience a 3-way dance. No, not the kind you watch on wrestling shows. I'm talking about your basic quickstep, waltz or a paso doble. Shannen Doerthy was gone, but luckily, she didn't quit. However, it was Tony Dovolani whose antics with Kate Gosselin went too far. Is it time for them to get their act together, and will Buzz Aldrin shock everyone with a top 5 score? We'll soon see. Week 3 of season X. It begins...now.

Kicking off the routine in April is Evan & Anna doing a quickstep to "Hot Honey Rag" from "Chicago." To clarify for all couples, they must tell a story....good thing you got wireless in your bed. In this first of 10 stories, it's about a husband who goes angry at his wife for being late. Yikes! Anna gets the makeup and Evan grabs her for a late excuse. By the end, they did a drop & sit move. Now we stand to the judges. Carrie Ann said it was great, Len said it cheered him up to watch and Bruno said it was a thing with Evan's feet, but is there a thing as the scoreboard?

CARRIE: 9
LEN: 8
BRUNO: 9
Total Score: 26
Nice way to start the show!

Next is Buzz & Ashly dancing to "What A Wonderful World" by Ross Mitchell. It'll be about a father coming home from war to his daughter. Ashly took control of the routine, but Buzz was a bit stiff on the other side. We now go to the judges. Carrie Ann said she believed the story, Len said the technique was poor and Bruno said there were problems with the movement. Guess what's next?

CARRIE: 5
LEN: 4
BRUNO: 4
Total Score: 13
Sent to the basement!

Next is Jake & Chelsie doing a quickstep to "Walk Like an Egyptian" by the Bangles. Both take on roles of Cleopatra a tour guide in the worst situation. Cleopatra comes out and shocks the heck out of the tour guide. By the time they got up to the band area, they did Egyptian hand movements. Cleopatra gets revenge by locking the tour guide into her tomb. Take that! Now to the judges. Carrie Ann said it set the bar high, Len said the production was slick and Bruno agreed with that. Walk to the scoreboard, please...

CARRIE: 7
LEN: 7
BRUNO: 7
Total Score: 21
They get 2nd place as a result.

Next is Niecy & Louis doing a waltz to "With You, I'm Born Again" by Syreeta & Billy Preston. We go back to the 60's with a couple who couldn't be together despite the fact race wasn't allowed at that time, but for time travelers, the song is from 1979. Confused? Anyways, they link up together and Niecy did a floor leg sweep rounder and that sends her to tears. Dry them up as we go to the judges. Carrie Ann said it was a bit confusing, Len said it was brave to dance with no props and Bruno said the story acted out very well. How well did they do on the leaderboard?

CARRIE: 7
LEN: 7
BRUNO: 7
Total Score: 21
They tie for 2nd place.

We get out first paso doble of the night thanks to Chad & Cheryl. As they dance, we reveal a man finding the right girl, but becomes Mr. Wrong. This'll be fun. Chad did a running knee slide and Cheryl knocks out Chad with her foot. She also did a kick and a lot of spins. Now we spin over to the judges. Carrie Ann said someone wanted the girl and it showed, Len said the dancing was much better than last week and Bruno said the "Crackin' is Back." Can he crack the top of the scoring table?

CARRIE: 7
LEN: 6
BRUNO: 7
Total Score: 20
didn't crack the top, but he made 3rd place.

Here's Pamela & Damian doing a paso doble to "Please Don't let me be Misunderstood." Pam plays a gypsy who's in love with a matador. Talk about higher ratings. Pam's behind a white background and did a quick slide. Soon after, the gypsy walked away from the matador, but we take the critique of the judges by our own horns. Carrie Ann said the anger was there, Len said they need refinement and Bruno said Pam's a very good performer. How good did they do?

CARRIE: 7
LEN: 7
BRUNO: 7
Total Score: 21
It's now a 3-way tie for 2nd.

We have Aiden & Edyta doing a quickstep to "Hey Soul Sister" by Train. Aiden paints the woman that comes to life in this story. Edyta comes in from the entrance area and after all this dancing, we head on to the judges. Carrie Ann saw some improvement, Len said it was a bit too careful and Bruno agreed with Carrie Ann. Here's what the numbers look like:

CARRIE: 7
LEN: 6
BRUNO: 7
Total Score: 20
They tie for 3rd place.

Erin & Maks are up doing a waltz to "See The Day" by Dee C. Lee. So far, it's doing pretty well until....she uses a blindfold to make things interesting. Now let's see with the judges. Carrie Ann said it was breathtaking artistic, Len said it was the most boring start ever seen and Bruno said it was a great dance. Let's see what the scoreboard says...

CARRIE: 8
LEN: 7
BRUNO: 8
Total Score: 23
and they take away 2nd place.

Kate & Tony are up to dance a paso doble to "Paparazzi" by Lady Gaga. Wonder what the story's all about? You'll see. Kate throws away the tabloids and Tony plays the cameraman. Kate did a foot slide and a go through. With everything else, we go to the judges. Carrie Ann said it was odd & very strange, Len said there was no passion, drama & intensity and Bruno said it looked like they were walking. Let's run over to the scoreboard.

CARRIE: 5
LEN: 5
BRUNO: 5
Total Score: 15
They stay one position out of last.

And to wrap it all up, Nicole & Derek play sailors to a quickstep to "Anything Goes" by Cole Porter. They played around with mops and Derek leaped off. Nicole blanked Derek from behind and they seemed to have lost it for a minute, but regain quickly. Let's get up to speed with the judges. Carrie Ann said it broke 2 rules, but it was good, Len said he got the story, but not the dance and Bruno agreed with it. Here's the last round of scoring:

CARRIE: 8
LEN: 7
BRUNO: 8
Total Score: 23
And they tie it up for 2nd.

Before we reach shore, here's the final tally: Evan & Anna stand on top with 26, 23s go to Nicole & Erin, 21s go to Pam, Niecy & Jake, 20s go to Aiden & Chad, Kate has 15 and Buzz is last once again with 13. There's more to this story as the results show will find out who's story is at a tragic ending. The journey for the rest of the 9 couples will reveal on tomorrow.
