Will the class get him to the big money on this, their last night at Are You Smarter Elementary? Before we continue, how about a standing O for the AYSTA5G Elementary Class of 2007! When we last left off, Josh
and Jacob were going for broke in...
"For the love of Zeus, I hope your wife's name was Aphrodite." Nope. It was B, Hera. The only way he can play on is if Jacob wrote B, or Hera, or something. Jacob wrote... HERA! He's got $100,000, but to get $175,000, he's gotta do it on his own.
Thomas Jefferson is popping into Josh's mind.... but he's not sure enough to go for it. Josh drops out with $100,000. Correct: not Thomas Jefferson. It was James Madison. And now, the last classmate this class will ever see, a 37-year-old tennis pro from Raleigh Park Elementary in Portland, OR, GREG JOHNSON. And now for the last time... Jacob is up to help our player.
He rules out B. Greg goes with A, Delaware. He's right for $1000. Spencer: "What did Della wear?" She wore a New Jersey, duh!
Greg goes with A again. And A is right again for $2000. Greenland is a dependency. Next up to help is ... last time I get to write this... Spen-CER!
Gotta be a pearl. Gotta be for $5000.
Greg says that it sounds enticing. He says TRUE. Spencer says TRUE. ... and they're both right! Time for the milestone question, and it's time for Kyle's final walk to the podium.
Greg whittles it down to taste and hearing. He goes with hearing. No joy... It's smell. Kyle needs to save him in order for us to go on. "I don't smell!" No, you just look like you do. Kyle wrote... smell! Greg has $25,000! Now let's go for $50,000.
Greg is thinking a new moon... and he goes with it. That's right for $50,000! Next to help out for the last time is Marki. She wants English. The question that Greg is scared to death of... The question we see next.
Was it as scary as you thought? "It is." Greg locks in J without delay. Marki cannot save you. She doesn't have to, because you're right.
Marki is locked. Greg takes a PEEK. Marki said... 1881 = 19th. Greg sees the date and goes with it. Correct answer... 19th! Saving the best for last, as we bring up Alana for the final time.
Not a trick question. That's July 4th, 1826. He's going to drop out with $175,000. He thinks it's George Washington. ... he was wrong! But he still had a copy. Oh well. We're not going to see what Alana wrote, but the correct answer was John Adams. ... and that's all she wrote for the Class of '07. But we have one more surprise in store for them as we fast forward a few weeks. We see the class one more time, having helped grown-ups win $6 million since February. And since no good deed goes unrewarded, each member of the class is given a $25,000 savings bond for their future to ensure that they're always smarter than a 5th grader. And before we send them off to Mark Burnett Middle School, we have one more job for them... Find one person each worthy enough to pass along their legacy. If this sounds like an episode of Power Rangers, don't worry... It was. Heh.
