Block's Holiday List
- December 12
A Merry Game Show Holiday to you!
Welcome back to the Block Party, where the weather has
turned frigid...but my wallet has been working overtime
getting gifts for all my fave game show friends.
But why should I leave you guys out. I have some
suggestions for the reality and game show fans in your
life. Most of these items can be found at amazon.com,
bookstore or any major toy or electronics store. Do your
homework and you will be fine.
DVD's--
The reality show fan has a lot to look at. December 5 is
the release date for "Survivor: Vanautu" the latest from
CBS/Paramount Home Video. You can also buy Survivor
Season 1, 2, All-Stars, Palau and Pearl Islands.
Amazing Race Seasons 1 and 7 are out on DVD. Fear Factor
Season 1 is out for the Joe Rogan fans out there.
There is a "Best and Worst of American Idol Seasons 1-4"
out there. If happier reality is more your scene...you
can buy "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" Season 1. And
one of the best reality shows out there, "Project
Runway" has seasons 1 and 2 for sale. And Yes, there are
some seasons of the Simple Life out there for you to
enjoy.
For the improv fan, "Whose Line Is It Anyway" Volume 1
is out in both censored and uncensored versions. Also, "Wild'n
Out" is available.
And for the game show fans...there is a Jeopardy DVD
that was released last year. And just in time...the
Match Game DVD box set is out. 30 remastered episodes.
You will laugh your ______ off.
Books:
I have to recommend both "Brainiac" by Ken Jennings and
"Prisoner of Trebekistan: A Decade in Jeopardy" by Bob
Harris. Both men have 2nd books on the way--but don't
blow by these. They are both excellent reads and perfect
for the Jeopardy and/or trivia fan in your household.
Also, Fantasia Barrino's Book "Life is Not A Fairy Tale"
and Reichen Lehkmuhl's book "Here's What We'll Say" are
in stores now.
CDs:
American Idol fans have a ton to listen to over the next
few weeks. Chris Daughtry's debut CD "Daughtry" hit #1
on the charts and is a great gift for the fans who
thought he should have won. The man who won, Taylor
Hicks and Fantasia Barrino have new CD's out the 12th of
December. Kellie Pickler released her debut CD--"Small
Town Girl" on October 31. If you still haven't gotten
Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood's CD, go get those.
And Jennifer Hudson is about to explode onto the scene
on the soundtrack to "Dreamgirls: The Movie" which comes
out on the 5th.
Games:
DVD Games are hot hot hot with versions of Deal or No
Deal, TPIR, $100,000 Pyramid, Family Feud, Newlywed
Game, and Let's Make A Deal all out now on DVD for
family play. There are board games for Deal or No Deal,
TPIR, Newlywed Game and Family Feud. DoND has a PC Game,
Handheld Game, Card Game and a board game out. And if
you want to play Simpsons Jeopardy or Wheel...you can do
that too!
I think I may have stretched your wallet enough. Happy
shopping!
