Part 2: Quarterfinals 2
December
8

Last time, you saw 100 competitors take to the Beach course. Of them, only eight have completed it, including big loser Ibrahim Peek, the legend Brian Orosco, and all three Platt Brothers. Who'll join them on the top 30?

RUSELIS "BLACKIE CHAN" PERRY (33; Colorado Springs, CO; gymnastics coach): FAIL - Jumping Spider (he grabbed the top of the wall, technically going off course)
SHANA MARTIN (30, Madison, WI; competitive log roller & boom runner): FAIL - Bridge of Blades
SIAM SUKRACHAN (27; Seattle, chef): FAIL - Bridge of Blades
ARTURO NUNEZ (29, Inglewood, CA; jouster): FAIL - Quad Steps
SHAWN HUMPHRIES (22; Hazlet, NJ, healthcare services): FAIL - Bridge of Blades
DOUGLAS OLIVA (26; Springfield, VA; photographer): FAIL - Warped Wall
RYAN STEVENS (21, Fulton, MS; student): PASS - 1:27.37

Needless to say, the Bridge of Blades is the tournament's Ninja Killer so far.

JIM KLIMEK (26, LA; writing assistant): FAIL - Jumping Bars
"TALL" PAUL DARNELL (28, North Hills, CA, stuntman): he suffered an injury on the Halfpipe Attack last year. He's hoping against a reprise. FAIL - Bridge of Blades
VICTOR RIVERA (24, La Mesa, CA; college student): PASS - 1:10.56
JOSHUA "CAVEMAN" KRTIZBERG (27, Palmdale, CA; coffee services): FAIL - Quad Steps
WILLIAM SPENCER (28; LA; stuntman): he passed out in the boot camp portion of season 1, costing him a trip to Japan. PASS - 0:45.75

Halfway up and halfway home... Four more people clear, Chad Simpson (1:54.30), Lorin Ball (:59.47), Aaron Carson (1:26.71), and Levi McGlathery (1:49), giving us a top 15.

BRENT STEFFENSEN (30, Sandy, UT; stuntman): PASS - 1:02.74
DAVID CAMPBELL (33, Scotts Valley, CA; musician): He competed in Sasuke 22, but did not finish the first stage in time. PASS - 0:52.45
RYAN STRATIS (27; Kennesaw, GA; Army National Guard): PASS - 58:56 ... with the salute!

George Dunwoody (1:16.89), Mike Moh (1:39.56), Andrew Taber (:56.50), and Ryan Rachall (:50.69) all pass, making it 22.

ROBERT MULLINIX (31; Hagerstown, MD; factory worker): FAIL - Bridge of Blades... with a really bloody nasty gash. If you're going to fall, fall big.

Next three hail from Tampa...

THOMAS HALL (22, Bradenton, FL; swim instructor): PASS - 1:04.67
SEAN MORRIS (23, Sarasota, FL; limo driver): PASS - :49.76. "There are three of us!!!!"
PHIL DEFRATIES (24, Sarasota, FL; OR technician): FAIL - Bridge of Blades. Now there are TWO of you.

Fast forwarding it with Christopher Gies (1:03.60), Andrew Karsen (1:06.02), Sean O'Brien (1:11.68), and Travis Rosen (:46.73) all pass. That makes 28 athletes.

CAINE SINCLAIR (24, Panorama, CA'; stuntman): he's looking for a repeat trip to Midoriyama. PASS - 50:62. One spot left...
PHIL BUDDE (24; Kennewick, WA; data analyst): FAIL - Rope Swing

And today's Warrior Wipeout goes to... Jim Klimek.

Finally, the most experienced Ninja Warrior that America has produced..

LEVI MEEUWENBERG (24; Traverse City, MI; free runner): PASS - :42.92

And that makes 30. Now it's not only a matter of completing the course, it's about doing it in the fastest time. Will these 30 times hold? Day 3 will tell the tale as 100 more competitors will try their hand against the finest obstacle course ever devised for television. Stay tuned for... more crazy competitors... more outrageous obstacles... and MORE AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR!
